When I first picked up Green Mile, I thought it was just another Stephen King horror novel. Though each book is different, after you read enough books of Stephen King, nothing really scares you. So I was all set for something really really scary.
Green Mile is nothing like any other Stephen King book, or like any book by any other author for that matter. Green Mile is a prison block where all those who received death sentence spend their final days. Each inmate has his own internal anguish to take care. Even the guards act different, being so close to those who are about to die.
One day, a huge black man arrives at Green Mile and he has a special gift. He can cure any living thing. He might be a giant but he's afraid of the dark and cries like a baby. And this man is sentenced to death for rape and murder of two little girls.
Green Mile will make you cry. Get some tissues handy before you reach the last chapter.
