Geoani launches its A Series in India this year. And the Gionee A1 was specially designed keeping youth in mind. At launch, Geoni said that the device's device has been focused primarily on selfie and long battery life. Now a new variant called Geoni A1 Plus has been launched. Geoani launched A1 and A1 Plus in MWC this year. The first A1 launch in India was launched and after that, A1 Plus was introduced last month. As the name suggests, the A1 Plus smartphone is much better than the A1. This phone has a large battery and a dual camera setup at the rear. The specifications of the phone are also better than A1 but will this phone prove to be a winner for the price? Learn in Review

Gionic a1 plus design

The first thing on which we first noticed is that the larger size of Geo A1 Plus It is a big device and feels too heavy. A 6-inch display means that it is difficult to hold A1 Plus with one hand several times. The phone has a fingerprint sensor on the front and the capacitive touch buttons on the front are given. You can change the capacitive button's function according to your own and it is not backlit, which means that it will be difficult to use them in the dark.

This phone weighs 226 grams and it is more heavier than the larger size Shaomimi Max 2. Being overwhelmed during the long period of time, the phone seems inconvenient. Behind the weight of the phone is the 4550 mAh battery given by Geo. The rear panel of the phone is made of metal, but its end is plastic. The rear of the phone feels slightly slippery, and because of being weary, it will be necessary to take some precautions while using the phone.

Geoni has given a power button in the phone but you will have to work a bit to reach the volume button. Dual cameras on the rear are given in the middle and there is a soft LED flash for the front camera. On the down side, there is two grill in Geo A1 plus, from which there is a speaker with a right one. However, the phone has stereo output because Geoni has used the earpiece of the phone as a second speaker. There is a micro-USB port for charging and data in the phone, which is a bit shaky, because nowadays most devices are coming with USB Type-C ports.

In the box, Geoni has given a plastic screen protector with a phone and a transparent case for the phone. In addition, in-ear headphones and an 18-watt charger and sim ejector tool will also be found.

Gionic a1 plus specification

The 6-inch display in Geoani A1 Plus attracts the most. Which comes with full HD resolution(1080x1920 pixels). Vivid colors come from the display and you can set them according to your convenience. While viewing angles are good, the phone is also very easy to use in the sunlight. Even when the brightness is low, the screen remains bright all the time. There are spots due to glass rear but fingerprints are not available.

In A1 Plus, Geoini has selected the MediaTek Helio P25 processor which runs on Octa-Core processors. The phone has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB inbuilt storage which can be increased to 256 GB via microSD card. However, to increase storage, the second SIM card has to be removed as A1 Plus has a hybrid dual-sim tray. The first slot will need a micro SIM while the other slot will need a nano-SIM card. The phone has 4G VoAT support.

Gionee A1 Plus Software and Performance

Talking about the software, Gionee A1 Plus runs on Android 7.0, above which a Custom Amigo UI has been given. There is no app draw in this UI and all icons are given on the homescreen. Switches from the top to bottom on the screen will show notifications and swipe up from bottom to toggle to be quicker than an IOS panel. We found that the Settings app has been re-organized, so you have to work hard to find different options in settings. There is also a tab named'Feature' in the settings, in which directions are given for the gestures used for the phone's feature.

Apps like Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Amazon, Savann, Zedder, TrueLar and Touch Keyboard are pre-installed. We found the touch keyboard as spammy because it would load the web-based game on the phone and create a floating visit on the screen. Peel Remote is a remote app and is like an additional feature in this phone because this phone does not have an infrared ammeter. In addition to the Google Play Store, Gioni also has his own live store. Overall, the UI is different and it may take some time to get used to it.

We tested A1 Plus on benchmark data. The phone's performance is good for everyday use and switching between apps gives a lot of help from 4GB RAM. During use we found that even after one day of use, about 2 GB RAM was empty.

The phone has a 4550 mAh battery, with which the phone runs smoothly for one and a half days. We found that the battery of the phone is over when playing a game. In our HD Video Loop Test the phone battery lasted for 14 hours and 43 minutes. With an 18-watt charger the phone is charged in two hours and charging also causes the phone to be charged.

Gionee a1 plus camera

Keeping the trend of dual rear cameras, the Xioni A1 Plus has 13 megapixels and a 5-megapixel dual rear camera setup. The camera app has a professional mode that gives more control to the camera setting. There are several filters available in the Camera app.

Photos taken from Geoni A1 are extremely average. Color reproduction is also not good. We got to see Purple Color in many pictures. If you take pictures from a distance, there is a lot of detail of pictures in pictures. The photos taken in low light came with a lack of dark and detailing. Switching the camera in night mode helps, but gets extra nights.

Secondary camera works only in portrait mode, where it is used for depth calculation. After which the artificial blur effect is included. Video recording up to 1080 pixels is limited, while Moto Z2 play at the same price gives recordings of 4 at 30 frames per second.

The phone has a 20-megapixel sensor with a soft selfie flash. Good photos come from the phone but look flat. Surprisingly, there is no intelligence in this, so you can be disappointed. But before taking selfies, you will have the option to apply the filter.
