The most anticipated movie of the year arrived with a vengeance. Leaping ahead hassles over the ‘publicity stunts’ and ‘spit-spat’ stories between another superstar, Aamir Khan emerges in an ‘avatar’ that many would leave their heart in that hall just after the movie gets over. Some times waiting for a movie which does lot of hypes is worth. Am I going to talk about the much expected release of this year that would smash the entire films already been showcased for us this year? Yes, now hold your breath and let me take you through the saga of a ‘one man’s fight’. And this review will let you murmur if you really want to spend your time along with your friends or spouse in that heart shaped box called theatre. This is about GHAJINI. I have written a preview on this movie and I thought to read the reviews written by our fellow writers. So what inspired me to scribble in here about Aamir Khan’s Ghajini is nothing personal but to let my entire dear one’s know what I feel about this tale bounded in a wrapped book that’s touched many a times with its beautiful screenplay. I understand the fact that there are stories that passes on saying it’s a remake of ‘MEMENTO’ and ‘GHAJINI’ (Tamil). Well, I am not denying those facts but what matters is how important a movie is been portrayed for all of us to spend 3 hours in a hall to get over the hang over left by the other films released this year.

*Plot:

GHAJINI is a powerful film. It has a strong screenplay that let us know the importance of shedding energy in writing ‘thoughts’ into a piece of paper that grip us in realizing time flies so fast and one need not spent time munching pop corns and sipping your favorite drink. GHAJINI is the clue and it will make you wait for the twist and turn that’s been told by the Director A.R. Murugadoss. Aamir plays the role of Sanjay who was once a rich business man falls in love with Kalpana (Asin). And the story does have a twist when Kalpana gets killed and Sanjay was hit by a rod that made him loose his memory and thus can regain things just for 15 minutes. I am not getting in detail about the plot since it was quite similar to what I had written on this movie’s preview. And talking the story about a movie is insane and since this is a thriller I will recommend all of you to watch it and not by breaking the suspense.

Music: * *

I have written an album review of GHAJINI where I had given 4 stars for its music however when expectations from a legend doesn’t meet up, we tend to show our frustration. Music is not bad and it’s not the best too. Now, what’s the important factor is if it does meet films sequence and its expectations. It does and to an extent I admit the fact that music could have been little better but let’s not compare it with the Tamil songs. They score above the Hindi ones.

Background Score: * * *

The films music may not be catchy for many and honestly speaking its not Rahman’s best but I guess in an action film, background score does play a vital role and our Maestro has done a fabulous job in getting his chords right.

Cinematography: * *

Ravi. K. Chandran does a good job here. I don’t think it can match up to Yuvvraaj for that matter. But with those limitations, he has done a job which is required for the viewers to sooth their eyes.

Editing: * *

Anthony does a good job here though I feel it could have been much better in the first half. There are some flaws although it’s not evident due to the films gripping screenplay.

Art: Sunil Babu** does a fabulous job in this department. It’s an artist who creates a mood for a film and everything plays an important role out there. Those room settings, pictures and what not!!

*Action:

Yes, its an in and out action film which means action is given importance but if you plan to miss it thinking it’s an action film, then I feel you will regret. It’s not about hitting any bull’s eye or the much talked about Aamir’s physique. I personally feel that his physique is not at all given importance over the script. Peter Heins does a fabulous job. Trust me; if you are going for an action film, then you will never regret it. Especially there are some mind blowing stunts which will amaze you. Aamir Khan really had to work on them since a man who fight against many people should be convinced on screen and I guess Peter Heins deserve nothing less than a 4 Stars in this department.

Acting:

*Aamir Khan

'Perfectionist' doesn’t let us down when it comes to his films. He does an over doze in his acting where many of the actors would see the dedication he puts into his character. Let’s forget about the physique he built over a year to accomplish his dream to play Sanjay. Let’s respect the effort he is taken to portray Sanjay on screen and the role he played in the film will actually make us remember him even once we leave the movie hall. I was amazed by the way he played Sanjay as the Air Voice (His Telecom Company) chairman and the lover who had the vengeance to find his rivals in order to sooth his soul. I said to sooth his soul since he has never loved someone and when he found his dream girl, and when she was killed, the normal person turned out to be a violent monster. Aamir Khan is at his best and long way to go for this amazing actor who has done versatile roles in his career.

Asin * *

She has done a good role and played Kalpana pretty well. I found her little over acting though she has managed to deliver her role as the script demanded. I was quite confused if she could match up to the ‘Perfectionist’ however she has done a great job especially in those emotional scenes.

Jiah Khan *

She was just an average and I believe she could have done much better. Is it because she didn’t have much role to play or was it because she didn’t go through the script well? I don’t know but she was just an average compared to the other actors in the film.

Pradeep Rawat * * *

He has done an excellent job. This should be an appreciating factor for the fact that a Superstar let his Director keep the name after the Villain’s name. Yes, the clue is GHAJINI and Pradeep Rawat is the character that Aamir Khan desperately looking out to kill. Pradeep Rawat plays GHAJINI and thus makes the movie more thrilling than ever since the film is named after the Villain. But why!! It’s for you to watch.

Climax: * * *

It’s better than the Tamil version. And I liked it better since the flaws in Tamil were rectified and thus making it more beautiful. Now, the question is will Aamir Khan Die like we see in his past movies. Will he be able to kill Ghajini? Will he regain his memory? Well, these all are silly questions but curiosity kills. That could be the same reason I watched it in the first show itself and I say no regrets. GHAJINI is a good movie butGhajini is not a good person.Cheers!!
