So how is Ghajini?
Amir's movie. So has to be different and interesting. Obviously perfection will also be there. South Indian director. So treatment is like that only, which is good, at least I feel. It gives this film a different look and touch. So, Ghajini is all you have expected from promos. Yes, It lives up to its expectation. If some one is saying it is action movie, than who said that it is love story? Promotion of movie is like that only, it is not like you are misinformed. If you don't like or let us say really hate action movie than don't go for Ghajini. But if you like action movie than man this is the very very special gift for you from Amir. Don't miss it at any cost.
A very interesting plot. Full credit to the makers of this movie to deal with this plot in such a brilliant manner. There are some loopholes in this movie, but neglect it. If you want to make this film with some bollywood touch, i.e. fair bit of time for love story than loopholes are bound to happen. Also plot itself is very complicated, so to make it simpler and enjoyable, you have to give credit to the makers of this movie. I do not want to reveal anything about plot, unlike my other reviews, as it is the heart of this movie. Amir as usual what an actor he is! Salute to him, for choosing such a wide range of subjects and giving justice to each one of them with shear brilliance and with utmost ease. Flawless performance. Asin, what can I say about her? A very warm welcome to bollywood. ( I hope she will do many more films here.) A lovely bubbly performance from her. Jia ( heroin of Nishabd) was OK, she has not much to do in this film. Ghajini Dharmatma ( villain of this movie, that is why name of this movie is Ghajini) is the disappointment of GHAJINI. He is the guy upon whom everything of this film depends and he sadly could not live up to that. I hope some one else was there in place of him. We really need one good actor for the bad characters in the films. But main heart is Amir and he is at his best yet again. Music is, I feel, very good. As this is the action movie, music has not that much bigger role to play like other standard love stories, but A.R. Rehman still managed to create the decent music for it.
But, one real good thing is, the real action movie. Last was the Shoot out at Lonkhadwala and Gaddar, way too long. It seems like the trend of good action movie is ended. We have stopped to make Action movies. We are really missing good action hero. Initially, Akshay and Sunny was there but now I guess no one is there to fill this role as Akshay is now doing comedy films. I hope by this film, era of good action movie will start. Just imagine the time at Ghatak, Jeet and Salankhe of Sunny Deol. If this one will do good business than I guess, more action based films will be made. And believe me we need it; akhir kab tak romentic movie dekhate rahenge. Ye dil mange more.
So, I loved Ghajini. For me it is 3.5/5. But I will give 5/5 to it. Just becoz it is action based. And man Amir has done it. He has made his physic to make you believe it. Action is not that much humbug. And just go to see Amir's reaction when he remember rather recollect that fatal incident with him and Asin, in the early morning when he gets up; it is worth watching.
If you don't like action based films, then I will suggest you to give it a try. It is one of the rare good action movie of bollywood in recent times. I also don't like action movie. But this is a good one. A good plot, well supported by actors' performance and welcome change after long time from watching same kind of films. So my take, do watch this film, irrespective of your choice of films. You will not be disappointed.
