This is what works for me:


First, if u know or apprehend some fairly heavy drinking, try NOT to have an empty stomach.on an empty stomach the alcohol hits u much faster and heavier.If u cant eat something, line yr stomach with a little fat.swallow 2 teaspoons of butter eg.The fat slows down the alcohol absorbtion.


2.Before staggering into bed, drink LOTS of water.a rough rule of thumb is half a glass for every drink.so if you have had 5 drinks, try and swallow two and a half glasses of water.


3.A tablet of ALKA -SELZER ALWAYS works.Dissolve one tab in a glass of water  and drink.next morning u might wake up red-eyed from your liquid orgies of the night before, BUT u wont be hung over and u will function reasonably effectively.


However Alka Selzer is not easily available in India.so heres a tip! The chemical composition of Alka Selzer is exactly equal to 1 tablet of Disprin(with aspirin)+ I teaspoon of Eno fruit salt.so just get a glass of water, pop in a tab. of soluble Disprin and add a tsp.of Eno .Eureka!Alka Selzer!drink while still fizzy.


The new Disprin is paracetamol based which DOESNT work.but the old Disprin(with aspirin) is still available at many shops.If not just ask the chemist for an equivalent brand of aspirin.


4.If u have forgotten to take the Alka Selzer before u lurched or puked(I used P, also NO C!)off to bed, dont worry.take it when u wake up.except yr head will be heavy for another hour before it feels significantly better .


5.In any case, with or w/o Alka S, it is a good idea to have at least 2 glasses of water when u wake up after yr sleep.


6.Some advocate a light to no breakfast the morning after.I dont agree.I have my normal brekker which is essentially eggs and toast, and a cup of coffee.Whatever be yr brekker it shld have a little fat in it eg butter on the bread or chappati.Fats absorbs the remaining toxins in yr bloodstream.


Hope these also work for u.in short, dont drink on an empty stomach, drink lots of water bfore sleeping, Alka -Selzer, 2 glasses when u wake up, and eat as normal as u can.
