After about 2 weeks of my registration on this website I have accumulated nine reviews and thought may be I could have my words on this wonderful website. I always had a desire to write but whenever I use to pick up the pen and paper I couldn’t write satisfactorily or used to get bored by thinking what’s the use if its going to lie at the backside of the shelf. May be this isn’t wise thinking and I’m sure expert & principled writers would have a lot to say on writing attitude. But for an average intellect like mine’s some one reading my writings is the most satisfactory thing. Keeping aside the attitude, satisfaction etc. I will come to the point of putting thoughts and opinions on http://www.MouthShut.com.
My friend had told me about the website a long way back but I was very reluctant to join and was a bit busy with my job. It was not early than September I came to know about the current competition on MS I finally made up my mind to join with a mission to get something out of writing. MouthShut provides an excellent platform for all wannabe writers to share there opinions anything from movies, music, electronic, home appliances, computers to more general and social topics like posting views on Piece, Education and very different like personality reviewing of sportsmen like Sachin Tendulkar, and David Beckham. I was really amazed to see so many categories to choose from for writing.
I like bikes, cars very much (who doesn’t like them?). I also have a sound knowledge and experience of them. So I thought I could give my best shot in Automobile category and gain some experience in writing. I find Writng on movies, music and general topics very difficult, since I don’t have much knowledge in that field and may be enough vocabulary to make a mark. I mean it’s not my cup of tea. So I stick to my area.
What I really like about the website is its layout and design. It is very simple and attractive. May the search results could have been more general. For example when I type Hero Honda Splender it should show results including Hero Honda products even if spelling of Splender is wrong or the nearest results matching the search word. But the search say sorry product not found. So searching for the exact product becomes a time consuming process. Perhaps the searching could have been more intelligent.
This website is equal to both products and members. Some other sites are more products oriented in look. They give preference to products more they than writers. But that’s ok in view of the benefits they get from it and to maximize the scope of products and services. After all that’s the whole purpose of founding the website.
I read some press reviews on MS from the Community center. There they gave a interesting statistics about the online users. The market research shows that almost 80 % of the net users use open portals like MS to read reviews and opinions on the product they want to buy. And wouldn’t deny that. Just recently I wanted to buy new album by Eminem – The Eminem Show. I had listened to the single Without Me and Cleanin’ up My Closet on TV music channel. I wanted to buy the album. I read in newspapers about the fame and sales figures the album had got in US and around the world. But I don’t go buy sales. I wanted to know the overall structure of the album. The only way to know that was going to such websites. I read some positives reviews on the album and ultimately I bought it. To my satisfaction it’s worth.
Whatever is the market situation and economic status I believe these portal are certainly useful in some sense. Who knows one day every person will go online and Internet marketing will see better days. It is quite clear that this change in economy has forced these website to stop the incentives given to the member writers in return of reviewing products. Despite the market slackness, slowdown, dot com failures I am happy to see MS stood up tall to face any challenges in the swinging economy and market.
Finally I would like to mention about the members on MS. Overall what I liked about members is that they are very lenient in rating review. I know my reviews are not as good as some great writers on MS including Meleahk1, Cousin2, just_did_it, achougoo, mskmsk100 and I’m sure many more other. (I didn’t get a chance to read others).
There rating really encourages me to improve my writing. I thank them.
PrashD thanks for the comment on my last review on enhancement of review by adding HTML tags. I was unaware of that. I appreciate the help I’m getting from MS.
