Whats Good and Bad at Mouthshut.com?

I wanted to save this review until after I had written about 10 reviews and wish to address the good and the bad, or if you want to call it, the Advantages and Disadvantages of the Mouthshut.com. In no way, shape or form do I intend to insult or mock any employee of Mouthshut.com when I get to the disadvantages.

The Good of Mouthshut.com

What I particularly like about the Mouthshut.com is the speed that you can access the site at. I have never had a problem accessing the site and have never had any lag or stalling problems during my use of the site so far this past month. Maybe the case for that is that the traffic is low when I appear or the traffic is low in general.

The design of the website is magnificent. It is infrastructured like most other websites yet I find it better than other websites such as Yahoo.com. Yahoo's main page is very complicated and it seems they try to ram everything into one page making it so frustrating to find what you are looking for.

The website is different from the ''Ep'' site because it features products and services from other countries that the ''Ep'' site does not. I get to learn about the cultures there and see how certain places operate their businesses and compare the similarities and differences.

I love the way members are able to earn royalties by rating reviews. On the ''Ep'' site, I was never able to do so and after rating thousands and thousands every year, I questioned to myself the worthiness of taking MY time to read and rate someone elses reviews so they could get money and not necessarily assure their presence back at mine.

The Bad at Mouthshut.com

First things first. Payout. You can't expect a lot of members to join the website when they first investigate a ''get paid'' to write and rate reviews. Before I first joined up, I looked everywhere and I mean everywhere for a simple statement that gave me a broad idea of how much a point was, yet found nothing. Thats the first thing.

Payouts after 6 months? I find this to be very ridiculous .. the only logic I can make out of this is that they want their members to continue on with the site and stay committed. That is not always the case though. I spoke briefly with a top member of ''Ep'' and he told me that he didn't know how much the point value was and that he would simply leech on the site until they paid and then continued on writing.

Emails. Some people don't like receiving emails from complete strangers on this website and therefore Mouthshut.com does not allow members' emails to be displayed. Its very interesting that when I email someone asking them if they got paid before and if so how much was the point value, that those emails do not receive a reply. YET, if I send a nice email saying ''Oh, so and so, I loved your review, keep up the good work'' .. those receive a nice reply.

Email alerts are pretty good, but I wish they would inform members when they would come. I expect them to come in at 9am est, but they come at like 2am when I am sleeping. Most likely they are using an Indian time zone. I wish they would inform their members of what time it came in.

Overall Thoughts ....

Those are basically the good and bad thoughts I have about mouthshut.com. I think the site is bugless and is enjoyable for most of its members, ..... I just wish they would take the time to pinpoint payout rates. This is a ''business'' and we are the ''workers''. Who would work for a job not knowing their wages. For anyone who disagrees with that statement, that ''we'' are ''workers'', please refer to yourself as a ''writing-for-leisurer'' and I'll consider myself both unless wages and point values are pinpointed.
