An old man in his 50, was walking wearing just a brief…
Puzzled, I asked him, why is he doing this ?
He in turn asked me Have you ever felt like really being heard ?
Yes!… I said and he gave me a smile and walked away giving me a look which for a sec…made me realize, what I was missing…(Not of walking in a brief…)
I searched in 1000sands for a place, where I could share my feelings and expression about certain things in life. I had written in many websites, but could never find a right place, until, one day, I got an e-mail, asking me, Do you write in Mouthshut.com too?
Then, what, it started a memorable 1 year of passionate writing and a learning curvature in my life.
Anniversary Edition…(Jan 31, 2001 to Jan 30, 2002
Sharing my 1st anniversary with all my friends and fellow members of MS is a great feeling of joy and moment, I can never forget. I am really proud to be a member of the writers and reader’s fairyland called Mouthshut.com
On 31st Jan 2001 at 17.35pm, I became the member of a weird named website called Mouthshut.com. Things didn’t remain same for the next 3 Indian season of my life. MS became a daily part and routine of my life where, I searched whether my shopkeeper’s website is down or running and not giving any problem, or whether, Coke is Superior to Pepsi or Aamir is the real star of Bollywood or Sharukh is also hated by many like me or J.LO’s album is really worth listening.
This became a unique platform to share my feelings about certain things in my life, which does takes some important, whether Raymond is a complete Man or Aptech, really changes your life. MS not only became a place where I could search my avenues in writing but also meeting people from different walks of life and also from different parts of the world. The 3 seasons was like Summer of 69, and my Monsoon wedding and so was Home Alone in Winter.
Learning Curve…
It is always said, that every person you meet, whether it is for a few seconds, he does creates lot of impression and teaches you some bit of lesson which you can never forget. At MS, I met people from different fields, different languages, different parts of the world, but all of them spoke the same language of Sharing things. Hence, for me it was wonderful learning experience.

You all must be thinking, how patriotic, I am about MS, actually its not patriotism, its closeness and the freedom of expression has never been the same for me after MS.

Old Wines of MS
All the senior members of MS have been a great encouragement for me. When I was new, many of the members like Jimmy, Sam1, Amrita, Smartgirl, farid have been regularly reading my reviews and giving me feedback. Without you guys, probably I would have never grown and I am still improving. Hence, now I am a Sr. member, I would do the same and see to it that, everyone improves and keep growing.
Mcdonalds of India
This is for all you foreign members who are like BBC and CNN for me, without you probably I would have never known about the new products and most important understand your taste of the products and services. We do have culture differences but we all speak the same voice, that is the voice of a Consumer. Rosie, Jacque, Abbhabey, Jambutty, Ashford are some of the inspirations with whom, I have learned and shared my feelings. You guys are doing great job and your reviews are always helpful and refreshing.
New kid on the blocks
In the last few months, have seen amazing changes , lot of reviews are of superior qualities and some credit goes to the new people who have joined are doing great job. Its really a refreshing change , my word to all my new friends.
“This world of MS encourages people and creates a new source of life in your writing which you will never find in any website.” Again, if you don’t know to write reviews, nothing to worry, I was worst when I started but I am improving with encouragement and feedback of my fellow members. Hence, enjoy your writing and don’t forget to give your feedback because your feedback may be a source of encouragement for others who are trying to improve.
So, now without wasting further time, let me run through the 3 seasons of my year 2001
Summer of 69(2001)
This has been like a Bryan Adams song, Fast, lively and happy. The season for me from Feb 2001 to May 2001, was like Fast and Furious. This season made me write amazing 89 reviews on diversified topics. Especaially the topic on Karrox got response from outside the world of MS. People form Karrox even tried various ways to change my review but, I would like to call Spade a Spade. Hence, I stuck to my task and in spite of repeated problems created by Karrox I didn’t change my view point and I got good support from one of the member Kishore who was always supporting my viewpoint. Not only kishore, all my fellow members supported me and helped me fight this Fraud institute called Karrox.
This amazing response made me Stronger and made lot of close pal’s like Jimmy, Sam1, Kishore, Amrita and we would really exchange emails on various topics.
Apart from this I made really lot of new friends Amol, Skkm, Smartgirl.
Though still, I have a long way to go as far as writing reviews are concerned and I am still learning. The MS team was very supportive during this season, with Aarti and Faisal keeping me regularly informed about the various things happening at MS. I was in 7th heaven. Hence it was like summer of 2001.
Moonson Wedding
Moonson has always been a bad season for me personally also. I was really busy during these times hence from May 2001 to Oct 2001, I could hardly write 5 reviews, but I would regularly read others review. But It was really sad, the people who became my pal stopped interacting. The reasons unknown, the question remained in my mind is, Only if you are logged in hrs on MS should make friends and should be interacted.
But, there is a saying, you win some so you loose some, I made lot of new friends, the lively and happy Jilmil, Smartgirl, Amol, SKKM, Mr Vocabs (Venchasa), Mr Technology (Achoogo), Suyog, Jaya. Apart from members even MS team, probably thought I wont be back and stopped responding to my emails, I felt really bad but, I have forgotten all this and doing what I like the most writing. So this wasn’t exactly a Mira Nair’s Moonson wedding but it was like Karan Johar’s classic and our misery K3G.
Home Alone in Winter
Winter is supposed to be my favorite season, but this was not what I had this season. It was home alone, with hardly 2 reviews written. I saw lot of new changes and new things happening at MS and it was really refreshing that new members were doing a great job. I enjoyed reading reviews and learnt lot from these reviews. Today my heart is sunk, for not writing reviews, the way I used to write, I would like to restart this year with good Quality reviews, which would be helpful to all my members and celebrate Summer Of 69 throughout the year.
