READ MY LIPS !!!

Lip salve dates back to 350 AD when it was used to darken lips for girls who had stepped into puberty n it is believed that Egyptian women invented it to look more attractive;in fact, the Egyptians r behind the mascara, kohl n the wig too-looks like they had busier women then, than we have now

The lip stick as we kno it, came into being much later n several beauty houses like to believe they r behind the new features that evolved-whether it was true color, long stay or in perfecting the technique of application.

So whats happenin on the lipstick front?     if u had'nt had the time to check out the counters recently, u've been missing quiet a bit!

for one, lipstick has moved from being a tube to becoming a multifunctional cosmetic.

several companies now have the two-in-one or  the three-in-one products.

1)     for instance there is PIERRE CARDIN'all over crayons' which turn into gloss.lipstick    or eye-shadow as reqired or the'double shade product that can b used as lipstick or eye shadow(all priced around rs.400 up).

2)   L'Oreal has an amazin touch color cream that turns into blush, eye-shadow n lipstick in turn.

3)   Chambor Duo Stic n Christine Dior duostyl roll both lipliner n lipstick into one.

also, some  brands allow u to choose the look u want.

so, if u want wet lips, high gloss or deep shine-take a pick.

4)      some companies offer golden gloss which can b worn without lipstick(costs around rs.450)

5)  Christine dior  offers many finishes which can range from brilliant gloss, satin finish or even the plastic effect.

6)  Matte can never really go out of fashion in india-but there is'nt much by way of colors here.

7)  lot of copper tones have arrived in the Maybelline range, plenty of nudes  n pink sorbet in Chambor, some frosted wines in Revlon.

8) check out the Clarins rouge range-very creamy n smooth.and the must try is the new range from Revlon that contains menthol that cools the lips, SPF 6 that prevents darkenin n the softest hints of glossy color.

another feature which seems rather unnecessary is the addition of vitamines to some lipsticks.some of the new shades have vitamin C tossed in n there r some with Vitamin E.The logic here, perhaps lies in the fact that women tend to swallow most of their lipstick anyway-in fact, it is believed that many woman consume several tonnes in a lifetime.

heres a quick check list of the types of lipsticks now available-

9) there's transfer resistant that lasts till u eat something really oily.

10) long wearing that stays upto six hours(but can dry ur lips terribly),

11) frosted lipsticks that have iridescent hues(good for a party night),

12) creamy ones that contain waxes(these dont last too long but feel delicious

13)some that contain plenty of moisturiser(gr8 to wear but must b reapplied contantly)

MY PICK

I usually go for the-  pinks in sheer almost nude tones or simply wear a gloss during day time.lakme has a wide range of these n all at a reasonable price.i use my lipsticks as a blush n eyeshadow(looks very good) when I go out for parties n ppl cant tell the difference.

I SAY THAT

throw away those plums for now n plz dont cling on to the browns .there r some amazin shades out there-just b bold enough to try them on n c how different u look!
