I was just back from Nice. I decided to give a review to show how easy to get around this city.
However, I have to warn you that it is going to be a suggestion on a budget trip. So, I will not tell about how to get the helicopter to Monaco or where to have a fancy dinner.
The first impression of Nice was that this Nice is much cleaner than other French cities I have been. The people are much friendlier(if you don't speak French, that is not a problem at all).
To get to Nice from Asia, there are 3 or 4 options( Via Beijing, Istanbul, Doha or Dubai).
Nice airport is very close to the city. You can get to the city by tram. It is very cheap( it costs you 10 Euro for 10 tickets). The tram/bus ticket can be used for 74 minutes.
However, if you go a bit further out of town(to Monaco or Cannes or Grasse or St paul), this discounted ticket will not be able to used. You have to buy the ticket separately. But it would cost only 1.5euro.
Here is the bus line
100 to Monaco
200 to Cannes
400 to St paul de vence
500 to Grasse(if you take train, it will cost 7.4euro 1 way)
Nice city is not so big so you will never get lost. There are 3 tram line and I found the size of the tram here is bigger than other French city.
For tram, they do have 5euro unlimited ticket for 24 hours. This may help if your hotel is far but still accessible by tram.
The restaurant is not cheap, if you take a bit of time to look around, you may find all you can eat mossles for 16euro which is quite a good deal.
When you travel back to Asia, the price of Alcohol cost 7 or 8 euro less compared to Schengen destinations.
The airport itself has 2 terminals but it is free to use tram just go between Terminal 1 and 2.
My last advice is to check the temperature. It would be better if you come when there is no rain.
