WEll frankly speaking ive read two novels in my life. It was this vacation in june. one was The Odessa File and the other was The Fountainhead. I was scared at first coz of the size of the book. and also coz I ve never read a book. but still I picked it up and was amazed to see what the novel turned out to be. Its based on the philosophy of Ayn Rand. The story revolves around a man named Howard Roark. The plot is amazing and anyone who's in a creative field especially designers would love it. Howard is an architect. he was thrown out of the college and also from the job. Basically he's a man who would never compromise for his work. He's willing to suffer than to do something against his own principles.He wants to break away from conventions in architecture, at that period(1960's).. He's a thinker. He believes that buildings and structures arent supposed to be decorated.In that era no structure was genuine. Every part of structure was replication of some roman , greek or some structure of Renaissance period. And this man defies all. Its how he survives against the whole human civilisation trying to destroy him into pieces. a very unusual character. one whome u would hate in real life. A very deep thinking goes behind the content of the novel. One can associate oneself with one of the characters. Im sure that everyone will get into deep thinking while and after u've read the novel. Its going to change the way u think. im sure about that.
I would like tio dedicate this book to the Designers who work sincerely for makiing things better.
Ill say read it but do think about it. coz if u read just to read then don't read at all.
