Although I live in New Orleans, Louisiana now, I did live in Florida for a long time! And I can vividly remember my trips to Disneyworld. Dubbed by the media and many, many people as The happiest place on earth.

So let's begin at the beginning............

We pull into the parking lot, past bushes and hedges trimmed into the shapes of Disney characters. We park the car and grab a free jitney ride to the front gate. As we are riding the driver explains a little about what Disneyworld is all about.

We get to the gate, and wait....on long lines. Pay our entrance fees (approx $50.00 per adult and approx $35.00 per child).....[There goes the college fund]

And we walk in....my eyes widen as I look around at more than I ever imagined could exist. Castles, overhead trams, space rides, dancing waters, roller coasters, Disney characters everywhere and I hear music and laughter all around us.

Where do we begin, now that we have entered the park?

We walk down Main Street and pass all the little gift shops and restaurants. ON TO THE RIDES

Space Mountain looms ahead. We get in line and wait until we can get into the roller coaster car and speed over the tracks in pitch darkness. Screaming and yelling all the way!

To the log flume. We get into log shaped cars on tracks that bring us high above the park and plummet us down at outrageous speeds until the car hits the water and we glide through the water (getting soaking wet) until the ride comes to a stop.

We walk on to see The Pirates of the Carribean. A slower ride through an animated river and see the pirates robbing and pillaging.

It's time for A Small World. A nice slow, cool ride through ''the world''. It takes you through country to country of animated children, dressed in the national costume of the country we are passing through. All the while, the ''happy'' song ''It's a small world'' plays in the language of the country you are passing through.

LUNCH!!! We stop in and grab a fast lunch of ''junk food'' yummy yummy!!

And we're off again to see the sights and ride the rides, until nightfall when they have the most elaborate, electrical light parade to end your day. All the Disney characters are on floats and walking down Main street, illuminated by thousands of electric lights (hence the name), until it culminates with a huge fireworks show to end your day at..The happiest place on earth(Until the next time you visit!)

And if you go, I guarantee, you will not be disappointed...Have fun, and give my regards to Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald and all the rest of the gang.
