I accidentally ordered a wrong book from Flipkart and asked the customer rep if I could return it. I was told that after mailing them the book to the relevant address, my money would be refunded to my Flipkart wallet. If only it were all so simple! I did not hear from these guys for many days and decided to call up.
Lie no. 1: At one point, they told me website of the courier company through which I mailed them the book was down. The website was working just fine and I sent them a screenshot with the consignment details and the date of delivery which had long passed.
Lie no. 2 : After sending them two e-mails and calling up four times, I was told my money would be refunded to my flipkart account within 24-48 hours. This conversation happened two weeks ago. The customer rep, instead of fixing my problem a.s.a.p, chanted some practised lines on me and asked me if I wanted to submit a feedback on their service! I think he expected a golden star on his notebook or something.
Lie no. 3: In my last e-mail, I gave these guys a piece of my mind and told them it was time I gave my review on a proper platform like this one. Soon, the supervisor called me up and promised me that I would in fact get my refund in the said week. It was even revealed by him that I didn’t have to mail the book myself and that their guys are supposed to come to my address and pick it up. The week has ended.
So you see, the bigger Flipkart grows, the lousier its customer service gets . No more is it your friendly online book store that catered to every request you made. Now it is just another online-store busy counting its money. You can forget customer service and you can forget it completely when your order amount is really small.
