My latest food jaunt took me to Flags tucked in a building next to the INOX theatre. As soon as you walk in, the scene looks like a setting for a President's meal for visiting diplomats. Quite imposing at first glance, the actual seating is quite simple with no frills of any kind. The level of comfort was so much that we ended up sitting in the place for 3 hours without realizing the time having passed.

So I must say the overall feel of the Place is Rich But Comfortable

Now lets get to the main part: The FOOD.

I've never seen such variety available in one place. It is as if the place attempts to give you a culinary journey of the world. The Menu had sections of: Cocktails, Soups, Salads, Starters, Main Course, Sizzlers, and Pizzas.

We started with the soup. Really WIDE choice, but I wont say that again because this is true of every course you might want to have. You get Continental, Mediterranean, Lebanese, Japanese, Chinese, European, Thai and what not; probably every cuisine you can think of.

The person assisting us suggested Laksa Soup. And we were glad we agreed to that. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting there. We had 2 starters: A smoked chicken and some delicious prawns. T'would be very difficult to remember those names now after having read at least about fifty in that section. And then a main course Lebanese dish made of chicken. The food was excellent.

Very distinctive tastes, and really well made. What surprised us was that there were no Desserts on the Menu. So we enquired with the attendant and he told us that they serve daily specials. The specials for that day were Blackforest, Apple Pie and Kiwi Firni. Not wanting to be too adventurous, we asked for just one Firni between two of us. But as was the experience with the rest of our food, this too was terrific and we had to go for more.

As for Service, it seemed like the attendant at our table was serving almost every other table at the place. There were at least 20 other people who kept moving around, in and out from the kitchen, giving the air of being busy, but did not look like were serving anyone, or doing anything at all. But well deserved kudos to, I guess ''Kevin'' was his name, who served us. Gave us a delightful experience.

Spent a lot of time explaining some of the dishes, suggesting what we should try, giving us information about the restaurant and their plans, making us feel very comfortable and yet was not intruding. So even Service? gets an A.

As for Price, it is a tad on the higher end, but quite reasonably so, considering the variety and quality of food that they offer. A place for special evenings out.

To speak about the Crowd, it was fairly empty at the time we entered, but quite busy by the time we left. Seems to have made a patron following in the year or so they've been in Pune.
