Well what can I say about this one. The name of the book is FIVE POINT SOMEONE- what not to do at IITs?
And probably what we do at DU (Don't know much about other universities in India, but assuming that most of the popular universities have same culture all over india), and any other university.
The incidents mentioned in the book were a bit hypothetical, but fun to read.
If you are a non-science student u gonna find it hard to relate to the subjects mentioned in the book but in case u are from IIT or from any other zillion Engg colleges, u gonna luv it like hell.
Language is pretty simple and hardly need to pick up a dicitionary while reading (which is the best parameter to judge any book, as I believe it is hard to write simple english)
Full of wit and fun, and one can take the liberty of saying that book version of DCH.
I can relate certain incidences in the book with my college (VENKY, New Delhi) and finished it at an average speed of 50 pages a day which is pretty quick for a guy like me who love reading books at speed of a tortoise (I finshed Love Etc, by Julian barnes in 3 months , stop grinning)
The idea of falling in love with your teachers daughter is a crazy one and I had have prefered it if it would be love with the teacher than the daughter.
I liked the Ryans character not b'coz he was good luking but b'coz he was careless and 'Going wid the flow' types.
Tell u what the way author has described Cherian's daughter , I had a crush on her (Blushing!). Well the narration is one of the plus points in the book.
Ragging was a bit of an eye opener for me
Over all I would give this book 8.5 on 10
A must read for all Pink Floyd fans
And I would give extra 0.5 for Cherians daughter
So 9 out of 10 from me
