Yaar, It's been a long time since I have written any review.The cool thing is that my last review got lotz of good remarks,but then due to professional commitments I was missing this endeavour in terms of writing.After seven months of absence on Mouthshut,I have now decided to take a plunge on this pool of MS.I have no idea how many people are still there on MS avenue,whom I was knowing at that point of time.Although many people have retired from MS, but still I know they will be back sometime soon, and I am looking forward to make new friends and good reviewers on MS.
After all 'YEH DIL MAANGE MORE'.
Youth Curry is today a new dish in closet of books and media.The whole spectrum of norms of writing a book has changed.People today want to seek for innovative ideas and stories just to relax and chill.
If someone were to ask me , why I have choosen this product title as a part of my review after such an absence.Well ! My answer would be, Perhaps nothing could have been better than this book as a part of my comeback.
Please WELCOME ---> Mr. Chetan Bhagat for the wonderful work on Five Point Someone.The Man behind this book is well versed with the intricacies of writing and giving an imaginative space to readers' mind.
'What Not to do in IIT' that's the tag on the cover of this book under the title.And seriously speaking ,this line explains it all what's there inside this amazing novel.
According to me,Five Point Someone is an amalgamation of spices of youthful vitality,friendship,attraction,adventure and confusion in lives of three friends in IIT.
But to be very frank,the story is just not about people in IIT, but it's about every college guy who goes through certain level of turbulences in his life.Good thing is that this book doesn't tries to teach or preach anything but just shows how people mess up their lives and then things take a new turn.
The story about three friends Hari(Confused),Alok(Fatso) and Ryan(Being different , Bindaas) is totally awe-inspiring and inimitable.Their journey of four years in IIT is enjoyable,distinctive and humorous.
If you ask me which character I loved the most, then it has to be all three of them.Oh Please ! I'm not trying to be diplomatic but still I found some traits of myself in each of them.
The characters are well sketched out.The flow of the story is totally marvellous and soothing.
Some other characters like Hari's girlfriend Neha Cherian, Prof.Cherian,Prof Veera and Alok's mother are well applaudable for their role in the story.
There many moments in the story which still haunts me.Some of them like Vodka Fiasco,the lipstick gift specially made,the rift between Alok and Ryan,the intimate moment between Hari and Neha,three of them caught while looking for majors paper,C2D theory ,working for higher GPAs and many more of them has completely captivated my emotions and mind.
Frankly speaking,It was a rejuvenation process for me while I was reading this book.Although,this book was written a little back,still it's must read book for every individual who misses college life and old pals.
Take my Word, Rs.95 is not worth this book.According to me,it is worth Rs.595 for the story,characters,narration and emotions that are well etched out.So Go Yaar and buy this one.
Being 113th review of this book on MS doesn't makes it just another review , but just to let Chetan Bhagat know that Saurav has admired,enjoyed his writing and applauded his debut work.That's my promise Chetan,my review on your second book will be there soon.Although,It's never too late.What Say !
