Beauty is such a divine word. It is magical and it creates an instant effect on any person. It is true that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Every individual has their own idea of beauty and something strikes them only when it touches a cord. To me beauty is mind, body and soul. I cannot see beauty in vacuum. A stunning face with no soul is not my idea of beauty. Beautiful is what beautiful does. It is the personality of the person that creates an aura around them and makes them stand out in a crowd. Therefore my list of most beautiful actresses may be quite unconventional. And here they come in random order....
Sushmita Sen: She is stunning. Over the years her looks have definitely changed but what remained unchanged has been her attitude towards life. She is beautiful as a person and that reflects in whatever she does. And fact is that she is not made for hindi movies. Her larger than life personality is best suited for being the ambassador of the 21st century woman of India - daring, outgoing & ambitious.
Tabu: She is one of the finest actresses of modern times. Tabu may not be beautiful in a conventional sense but she certainly is very talented. And that makes her unique. True there are so many talented heroines in the industry but Tabu's beauty lies in her talent and it is her work that makes her one of the most beautiful actresses of bollywood. I know many people will think this to be absurd but that's how I see beauty.
Kajol: Her attitude makes her beautiful. She is undoubtedly quite gorgeous but the image she has created of herself is what makes her beautiful. When all the heroines put their best makeups on for a party, you find kajol wearing big glasses and laughing away instead of giggling to jokes. She has loads of attitude and she does not fail to show it as and when required.
Nutan: She is a classic and timeless beauty. Naive and innocent, she evoked an aura of dignity and respect that has always been a part and parcel of Nutan. When you think of Nutan, the image that builds is one of a dignified woman who made her own rules and lived by it. Beautiful, she is.
Nandita Das: Dusky and intelligent, she is a woman of substance. She knows how to carry herself in all circumstances and believes in being different. She is extremely attractive with very sharp features and speaks her mind without any inhibitions. She knows where her talent lies and dares to be unconventional in a very conventional bollywood. Thats make Nandita Das stand out in a crowd.
