Well, I am a picky person when it comes to watching films. My husband and I discovered the first thing we had in common when we met was the simple fact that we love good films. I do not mean necessarily the films that are big at the box office, or films that people watch just to pass time. I mean films that are unique, have a deep message in some cases, and have a cast that performs the script so well that you forget you are watching that actor. All of a sudden that actor is the character in the film. You cannot make a distinction. I had to choose only 5 best actors. I chose them not based on one performance, but for their consistency at being a good performer no matter what film they are in. These are in no particular order.

Kevin Bacon: He has been in some great films such as Stir of Echoes and A Few Good Men. He has also been in some very bad films such as Wild Things and The River Wild. One thing remains consistent. Whether he is the lead actor or he has a supporting role only, he always gives top notch performances. You can actually believe he is that character. He is not just Kevin Bacon memorizing a script.

Christopher Walken: He is very scary looking with those eyes and that haunting voice. Yet, he started out as a dancer on Broadway. This guy is versatile. He can play a supporting role in something like Pulp Fiction and be well remembered. Yet he can also play the romantic lead in a Hallmark film called Sarah, Plain and Tall and steal your heart. No matter if he just as a cameo in a film or is the lead actor. You can always remember his performance in a film.

Johnny Depp: This guy is sexy and talented. He has had a long, consistent career. Edward Scissorhands comes to mind when I think of great films he has performed in. He has been in some of Tim Burton's odd films, and shown he can take and odd role and make it his own. He was also in this move called, Nick of Time with Christopher Walken no less. The film takes place in real time. He has 90 minutes to do a task or his daughter is murdered. He is great at trying unconventional roles and making them work for him. I wish him a long career.

Jack Nicholson: What can I say? This guy can play even the smallest part in a film and make it memorable. The first film I ever saw with him was The Shining. He was more scary than the evil spirits in the hotel. I will not forget him holding that ax! Of course, I must also metion his performance as Nathan Jessup in A Few Good Men. He is in the film such a short time, but most people remember his character in this film the most. He also is great at comedy. I loved As Good As It Gets as well as Anger Management.

Sir Ian McKellen: I am in awe if this man. He was a stage actor, trained in Shakespeare. Now he is playing 2 pop culture icons. He is Magneto in X-Men, and he is Gandalf in Lord of the Rings> He played them both so well. You can only imagine him playing these roles. He owns these characters. He is also great in Gods and Monsters. He has had small roles in some other films as well. The one word I can use to describe him is classy. He can play a comic book villan and still appear classy. He takes his roles seriously, and he executes the performances so well.

It is so difficult only picking 5 actors. I am sure many of you might not know who all of these men are. I can recommend some of their films if you like. Comments are welcome. Just remember, this is only MY opinion.
