Film Unfare Award. Review on Filmfare Awards 2004

Watching the show was a pathetic experience. Here comes Saif Ali Khan dressed as a monkey to host the show. His jokes were just awful.

The way his phone kept ringing and we were not able to hear anything, and how it was always a wrong number was just too stupid.

Then we get a news that Shahrukh khan would not be hosting the show, well I thought maybe thats the surprise, he might show up later. I waited till the show is over, he never came to host the show. I am not saying that Film fare is incomplete without SRK, but he puts life into the show, which I regret to say that Film fare didn't have this time.

After a while we have Farida Jalal host the show along side sonali bendre. Her jokes or whatever it was, wasn't working well. She looked odd to be hosting the show because here we have all young people who are like double her height and because of that she was unable to deliver a good hosting skills.

The show just went on and on, they didn't have any good performance until SRK came with all the RANDOM ladies from the past. I didn't see the point because he missed so many great actresses.

The best part was Sonu Nigam going through decades of music. He kept asking for people to clap for him, since they are so lazy to even clap once. After every song, he would request people to clap. His long hair were overshadowed by the way he kept changing clothes on change. Don't get too excited, he was wearing layer of clothes.

Then we have an dance number from Priyanka Chopra. She had some weird costume. But it was all good. She was looking prettier even in that horrific costume.

Then came the popular awards. Humtum won best director and actress. While Shahrukh Khan won the best Actor for Swades. I think even though the movie didn't do well on the Box office, the director did such a marvellous job in showing the REAL India. I think atleast, he should have gotten some mention. Instead of Veer Zara, I think Swades should have gotten Best film award.

As you watch this event you realize, its not the good work done by 1000's of actors in a year that is recognized. Instead, it the popular people who already have tons of trophies from previous years that are being recognized. For example, Javed Akhtar had all 5 nomination. I thought that was rediculous. Were the other writers selling horse while Akhtar was writing songs? You can probably name more songs that are much better and meaningful.

I think Shahrukh Khan deserved this award. His performance was very powerful. Thats why he got the random award called ''POWER'' award. I am surprised they didn't give any award to Amitabh Bachchan. Well his son gave him the award after he won for his tremendous acting in Yuva.

Simply put, there wasn't much entertainment in the show. All of the show seemed predictable, if you watch some other award show. Nothing new here. Hosts were more pathetic than the show. I hope you watch and realized how boring it was.
