Fighter is written in the context of the Pulwama attack in 2019. But the narrative lacks depth in portraying patriotic fervor and a gripping storyline that captivates the audience throughout.

The film begins with Commanding Office Rakesh Jai Singh ( Anil Kapoor ) forming a quick response team comprising top AIF fighter pilots, Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania, Patty ( Hrithik) , Squadron Leader Minal Rathore, Minni ( Deepika) to form a special unit called Air dragons.

The first half of the movie focuses on character establishment and featuring routine scenes of partying and predictable jokes among the colleagues.

The second half, though more engaging, doesn't boast the best written screenplay. It leans heavily on hero buildup scenes, dominated by Hrithik.

Hrithik Roshan is, without any doubt, the most good-looking guy in Bollywood right now. He’s stylish, he’s confident and has a different aura around him in this film. From his walk to the way he winks, Hrithik is very convincing in his role. Portraying the fighter character with commendable skill. Though he is sincere in his efforts, but the role lacks effectiveness for the audience to root for him.

Deepika Padukone delivered a convincing performance, effectively showcasing a range of emotions and expressions. Anil Kapoor's portrayal of a typical commander was executed with finesse.

Karan Singh Grover as Squadron Lead Sartaj Taj Gill and Akshay Oberoi, Basheer Khan are brilliant in their respective parts. Ashutosh Rana and the rest of the cast performed aptly in their respective roles.

Director Siddharth Anand has chosen a patriotic plot with twists but keeping track of them becomes tiresome after a while. The screenplay and direction follow a formulaic pattern, and the weak portrayal of the villain diminishes the overall impact.

There are some good action sequences that one cannot miss admiring. Despite having substantial material, Director Sidharth Anand don’t take advantage to create a saga that isn’t startlingly innovative. It seems the only thing that they had on their minds was to present Hrithik Roshan as a dependable star who can carry off a film on his strong shoulders all by himself. Despite these shortcomings, the production values remain commendable.

In conclusion, Fighter falls short of expectations, delivering a lackluster cinematic experience with a predictable plot. The film attempts to bring a patriotic touch to the narrative, it fails to capture the audience's imagination and falls short of delivering a truly engaging cinematic experience.
