A Few months ago, I had seen an advertisement on a television channel by some flop actor turned producer(Sohail Khan) inviting flop faces to audition for his film, that had minimum 3 flops to their credit. Though I didn’t quiet qualify for the same but it raised an alarm bell in my mind that there is something that we as audience have to be watchfully cautious about. And this Friday was that fate less day when I was one of the first victim and got knocked out!!!

It seems that all the flop stars like Sohail Khan, Ashish Choudhary, Suniel Shetty, Dino, Amrita Arora etc. etc. of Bollywood have got together and formed this Fight Club (read Flop Club) against the real super stars of Bollywood like the Khans, Devgans and the Bachchans … but still get knocked out in the first round of half an hour of the movie itself. After watching these actors I realize the importance of the King Khans, Kapoors, Bengal sirens and the Bachchans of this industry. I respect them even more… The movie is full of obviously fights and biceps and some bit of ludicrous romance trying to balance all the dishoom dishoom!!! With a borrowed title and the concept of starting a fight club from Brad Pitt’s Hollywood movie Fight Club there is nothing more similar in the two films. I wish there was some similarity that would have made some sense. It definitely has a sleek look & some well executed sequences but without substance it sadly disappoints and fails to sustain interest.

FIGHT CLUB tells the journey of four friends, Vicky [Zayed Khan], Karan [Dino Morea], Somil [Ritiesh Deshmukh] and Diku [Aashish Chowdhry] are great pals who do some odd jobs like bartenders, gym instructers etc in Mumbai but live in some plush row houses in Mumbai without having any earning member in the family. Wow ??? How ??? Seeing brawls in pubs, bars etc. Vicky comes up with an idea to form a Fight Club that will give an arena(that always kept changing from swimming pool to warehouses) to all those individuals to seek their revenge and charge for the same. Vicky please tell me where is the next Fight Club organized because I want to settle scores with the producer of your movie!!! During there flourishing business Vicky finds his love interest in Anu (Dia Mirza, some respite) and Karan in Shonali (Amrita Arora) giving reasons for some songs and dances that eventually gives the audience a break for a cigarette or loo. During these contest they also end up having fight with Mohit (Yash Tok) and his friends. They are then dragged to help Somil’s Chacha (Kulbhooshan Kharbanda) to protect his club “Crossroads” in Delhi from the ganglords led by Sandy (Rahul Dev) & Dinesh (Ashmit Patel). Team Fight Club also calls upon their friend Sameer (Sohail Khan) to act as bouncer for crossroads club. Mohit (Yash Tonk), brother of a retired ganglord Anna(Suniel Shetty), also joins Sandy in their escapades. Mohit falls victim to the dirty game played by Sandy and Dinesh against him and Fight Club members get blamed for it. And finally the so called climax. Thanks!!!

The movie is a victim of its own subject. Director Vikram Chopra has concentrated on its visual appearance at the cost of ignoring the content that cannot be substituted. Music & dances are ordinary. The First song in a disco is well executed. Neha Dhupia as the love interest of Sameer is there in an Extra special appearance. Rest of the ladies are there to balance the sex ratio. Aashish Chowdhry is irritating with his wise (read foolish) cracks. Ashmit Patel…as a charsi is another guy I would like to enroll for the Fight Club. Suniel Shetty & Rahul Dev are OK and the rest better rest…
