Worst Experince. Review on Fiat Palio Stile

This is my WORST experience till date!!!.. I ahve driven my car 9000km since I owned (jan 08)I purchased Palio Sile 1.1 Slx after researching a lot. I have owned three cars before but all from Maruti stable. So wanted to go in for some different vehicle.

Initially I zeroed on Honda City / SX4 , however since we are small family ( just 2 of us- no kids yet) we also looked for middle segment... then I researched on vehicle and found that it would be a good deal. Let me tell you this experince has been worst in terms of Sales/ Service support.  Out of the 4 months I have owned this car .. atleast 1-1/2 month I must have been either at service station or taking the car to and fro to service statsion.. somtimes literally like an Tanga.. no pickup and intermittent missing / stopping.. I never knew when it will stop in traffic... and as far as speed is concerned .. even cycle wala took over my car often

Let me start from day one:

1. I purchased my car from Him Motors, Industrial Area, Delhi ( near anand Vihar) on 8th Jan 08, financially it was a good deal as compared to other cars... however I was not ready for the things to come...

   
   




2. When I went for delivery of car , the gear console / leather cover  was somewhat loose, Sales person (Abhinav) told me dont worry come anytime and I will get this fixed . since I was in hurry to get to office I took the delivery...

   
   




3. Initally it was all good... the only issue was Right headlight "beam" was not focussed correctly and wiper water was not coming from jets. I called to inform and they said come over we will adjust it on first service... Since I am an outdoor person.. within 3-4 days the car was ready for 1st service(500 Km).. The seriousness of headlight issue I realized when I went to nainital , it was practically impossible to see on right when taking right turn in hills. the beam was going all the way to left .. Too risky . however I thought that its just a minor issue and was satisfied with overall feel and drive.

   
   

4. here starts the story .. first service ..I left the car in mornign and went to take delivery in eve(after getting call that car is ready).. had to wait for 1/2 hr to find out who actually is looking after it...on delivery I was told that headlights have been adjusted..and what abt wiper issue??... they forgot to work on it .. some new learner came and did some desi jugad.. all the while I was stopping him to try  this things as car is new...  i mentioned about gear console .. I was told that the lock is broken for it and you need to purchase it as a complete unit approx 700-1000 Rs..anyways I left without it as I wanted to have a word with sales person first who delivered the care...

5 .. after few kilometers it started giving vibrations/ missing .. not to mention the headligt condition was worse .. both headlights were pointing in diffrent directions.. as if going north and south... .. vibration were strong enough so that could be felt enough on steering .. told this to service centre . they said bring it next day ... I went all the way . After couple of hours I was told that everything is fine and you might be feeling it due to radiator casing .. I said boss I have been driving cars for 15 yrs now .. so dont give me lame excuse. I starightway mentioned that there is some issue in "FUEL INJECTION" . the service person was not ready to listen and said that we have similar compaints on this model and its due to casing . I have tightened the bolts and its resolved now. To my surprise next day the situation worsened.  It started giving missing in traffic ..called up again.. usual answer bring it we will see. went again .. and this thing continued for couple of days..I was going to service statsion as if one goes to temple daily... Each day I repeated that this is issue with Fuel Injection and they gave some lame excuse...headlight issue never got resolved completely and till date its not properly focussed

6.Finally one day the (Fuel injection warning )turned on it is then they said you will have to leave the car for few days .. I said keep it back for as many days as you want and call me when its done. they called me in 2 days that its done and you can take it . Since it was eve I said that I will come tomorrow morning .. next morning to my surprise when I went there .. and asked for delivery .. they said car is nt here .. I said that I got call that it is ready .. they sent it to some other service centre--80 kms away .. and gave me an opition to wait as the driver will bring it . I waited forom 10:00 Am till 1:30 PM before I got it. All this time I they kept saying .. its coming in half hr ...

7.. this thing continued and it never got fine tuned ..had to visit some more times and finally it was approaching second service so they started saying we will see it on next service...

8.. second service ... my dealer said that we have stopped handling FIATs..and do not   cater to Fiat now and are concentratinhg on Tata so we suggest you take it to Elegant motors (which was in next lane) for second service as they have all specialized tools and mechanics..

9 ... in a nut shell its a long story and there have been days when after doing night shifts I had to take my car to service centre .. stay with them while they tried all experiements and changing what not sensors ..and then again do night shift .. only to find that the conditions has worsened..

10... for complete month of may I was literally without car and for days when I got it it was worse then a rickshaw.. major issue being that they changed something and then said something else needs to be changed.. due to parts not available they said we will have to wait for 2-3 days for the parts courier.. all so many things have been changed that I have come to know a lot abt  the fuel injection system on Stile 1.1... to summarize here is the list . 1. Lmbda sensor/Knocking sensor/Wiring/issue/throttle potentiometer and complete wiring/Sunvisor/clock is not working and that was orderred on first service... I dnt know where they are getting it made Wiper are somewhat moody ... they work on their own wish..when at service centre they say they are fine ..one day they work next day not ...9.. Mileage -- when running fine it gave 15-16 Km in city and more on highways ... else it even cam, e down to 5-6 Km/ltrI have driven my car abt 9000km now and going to file a complaint in Consumer court for an exchange / compensation and the time / money wasted ... not to mention the mental agony ...I am frustrated to such an extent that I am gonna get honda city / verna in couple of days with hope that there I wont have same experince... or may be I will have to turn back to my tried and tested brand - Maruti .. anyone wanna hear the complete stroy --
