Well..I was surprised to see a taxi Palio diesel at my door when requested for a cab to drop me at the airport. In the previous occasions the travel guy used to send Indicab for me. Curious enough..I asked the driver how he feels about this car. His first reply was..ye gaadi indica se bahuth badiya hein.

Believe me..once inside the car, it was a real comfort seating at the rear...no engine sound..good AC..altogether a big car feeling. I took this cab from HSR layout ..in Outer ring road in Bangalore. Oh boy..with in minutes..this cab was at 130kmph..still no signs of any vibrations..you cannot feel the pace if the windows are up. The driver was so proud to say that..he easily touches 160 in that road with his Palio D.

Regarding mileage, the guy said, for 1 litre diesel, he gets around 18km for speeds between 60 & 80kmph. He also said that his boss has booked 10 palio diesels & will be getting it in next month instead of Indica diesel.

In my santro once I cross, 110..I feel the vibrations inside the car & starts getting a feeling of insecurity. I have decided..once I sell my Santro after 1 year..my next car will be from FIAT and that too a diesel. I felt much more safe in that Palio than in my Santro. And with that feeling I reached Airport much before than expected.

When I bought Santro, though I liked FIAT cars, I had a feeling about companys future in India. But I have read that FIAT Italy is going to make India as their R&D hub. Also I heard Maruti starting to manufacture diesel engines with FIAT's technology..hence I feel nothing to worry about FIAT in India for the time being.
