I am unable to believe that these guys think they can get away with anything.


An online order(this is not a fake review - check order number 15964960) was placed a few days back for a cake that was to delivered for a Bday. It was promised to us that the cake would be delivered between 11 AM and 4 PM. The cake never came. Its not that simple. Here is the horror story unfolded.


Since we didn't receive the cake by 3 PM, we called customer care. There are I think some two guys and two ladies(we now know because we had to call so many times), one guy is named Sukhwinder). The person said that he would try and contact the delivery guy. He could not I think(and by the way refused to give the delivery boys number as some policy also when we requested). But assured that that it would be delivered by 4 PM. The cake never came. At 4 PM when we called, they again said they would get in touch with the delivery guy. This time some delivery boy got in touch with us, but said he was starting off from a part of the city which was like 20-25 kilometers away.


There was no way he could have made it in time. After some time, he even indicated(he was probably lying) that he was midway through also, THEN he stopped responding and switched off the phone. After that, calling the customer care also did not help who were not able to contact the delivery boy and just put my father on hold several times for very long and did not try to get back also.  Basically, our Bday celebration was spoilt and we had to order the cake from another place.


What is worse, is that today when we contacted asking for a refund, they started blaming us without even understanding fully what happened. At some point in the conversation we had said(on their suggestion) that we could adjust by taking the delivery at another location since we were going out after 4(after which anyway my Dad was able to speak to the delivery boy and the address matter was closed) and this customer care lady said we were to blame for same. This is after my Dad called up customer care many times after 4 PM, and CUSTOMER CARE COULD NOT CONTACT THEIR OWN DELIVERY BOY!


My simple advice to you people is that don't even think of these unreliable, unprofessional people. Basically CHEATS. I wish I had seen the review on mouthshut before we placed the order. This is nothing short of a scam of people who don't know how to run a business which is so much about being customer oriented, instead they don't even meet basic requirements of on-time delivery. Look at their ratings - in more than 3 years, less than 2.0 on the average(Even by law of reverting means, this is bad!) . I believe even some of the better ratings are fake(the language tells -  it gets too flowery). Go to consumercomplaints.in and type in Ferns and Petals and you will see a long list of unresolved complaints.


UPDATE - THEY HAVE CLEARLY ADMITTED THEIR MISTAKE, BUT STILL TRYING TO BLAME US using the address issue. This lady Meenakshi keeps repeating this, is not even able to justify, but just keeps blaming, just like that other lady. They have no answer for the fact that after they suggested delivery to a different address, my father contacted the delivery boy and guided him to original address on order, but then delivery boy switched off his phone after confirming he was on the way. And calling customer care so many times did not help either, because they could not contact their own person.


I will likely even pursue this in consumer court, as they harassing for a refund of 899 rupees. Pls contact me if you think its worth it.
