The the soccer feast has begun and has taken a toll on everyone.I mean who doesn't love it?? well those who're not watching I feel they just dont know what they're missing.Am I right???
Since the 9th of June I m suffering from improper sleep which has effected me in many ways,i mean everyday since the 9th of June there has been atleast one good match at 12:30 am and I cant stop myself from watching it and I go to bed at about 3 am after having the post match analysis and debate with Rohan over the telephone and wake up early at about 6 o'clock as I have to reach school by seven.Well I have many times been embarrased in the classroom as my class teacher has caught me sleeping pretending as if I am reading the book but anyway I cant help it.
Things are getting hotter with every match,well everyone is oozing with excitement.From schools & colleges,the fish market to multiplexes its only football that is being discussed.Actually today morning mom forced me to come to the market with her and I forcefully woke up,it was 8 am, I bunked school as I was not done with my sleep..u know Portugal vs Netherlands last night .Well as I entered the market,the first words which came to my ear was Ronaldo,then passing by the poultry shops I could hear praises for Argentina and let me tell you the fish sellers are die hard Brazilian fans,the rickshaw pullers are confused between Spain and England and the cobblers have rock solid faith in Germany.Well not a single place have I crossed without hearing people with their expert comments on how Ronaldinho should have had passed the ball to Ronaldo and where Theory Henry goes wrong while shooting.Finally I decided that I shall pen down my analysis on the the prevailing scenario in FIFA 2006 and the possible developments.
Well few teams which were considered underdogs unbelievably made their way into the final sixteen.The final sixteen does have inevitable teams like Germany,England,Argentina,Sweden,Brazil,Italy,France,Spain and Netherlands but it also has Ghana an African team which has played the same role which Senegal had in the 2002 football worldCup,it has Austrailia which has played its first ever world cup,Equador is also in and Mexico too,and Ukraine & Switzerland were very much predictible.
According to me the eight quarter finalists should be :
1) Brazil : as they surely will defeat Ghana
2)Germany: has defeated Sweden
3)Argentina: Has defeated Mexico
4)Italy: should defeat Austrailia
5)Spain: likely will defeat France.
6)England: has defeated Equador
7)Portugal: has defeated Netherlands
8)Switzerland: seeing its performance..seems the swiss will win over Ukraine
Considering the above results we will get to see few of the best matches possible in the quarter finals..i just cant wait. although it means more sleepless nights.The four quarter final matches as anticipated by me are the following except Argentina vs Germany and England vs Portugal as they have already made their way.
The other two matches in the quarters likely are Italy vs Switzerland and Brazil vs Spain,as Italy is surely going to win against Austrailia and Switzerland I believe will win over Ukraine.Now the most exciting match is going to be France against Spain,this one is really dicy as on one hand is the rapid action force of Theory Henry and David Trezeguet and on the other hand is the equally dangerous Raul and Torres,i am afraid I cant comment on this one but however feel that Spain will have the last laugh.Well that means Brazil vs Spain in the quarters..awesome isn''t it ???
The Semi Finals
Well who will be in the semis ?? I feel this is the toughest question to answer.I mean the winner of Argentina vs Germany will face the winners of Italy vs Switzerland ..and the winner of Brazil vs Spain will face off against the winner of England vs Portugal.
The following is just a prediction as I am also damn confused as to what will be the results.
Dont you think Brazil being the superior team will defeat Spain,and Portugal will defeat England(seeing England's performance against Equador last night) .
The germans have shown some matured,professional yet attacking football which I feel gives them an edge over Argentina,and Italy being the better and more experienced team are probably to be victorious against Austrailia.This means that the 2 semi final matches will be ..oh its really getting hot here ..it will be Germany vs Italy and Portugal vs Brazil.
I will yet again support the Germans here against Italy and the Brazilians against Portugal.
Aren't we BACK TO SQUARE ONE????? 2002 fottball World Cup finals,yes I do believe its going to be Brazil vs Germany for the 2nd time in a row guys.
I cannot say that who will win the World Cup but would love to hear from all Msians...and what do u think of the possible results penned down by me? Please do comment, which teams according to you are going to make it to the semis and then to the Finals on the 9th of July .
Nominations for the golden Boot:
Miroslav Klosa : The german is the 1st candidate for the Boot,has 4 goals under his belt.
Rodriguez: The Aregentinian is a threat to any team he is against.
Torres: He is unpredictable and can strike anytime,a spaniard afterall.
Maniche:This Portuguese striker looks dangerous.
Ronaldo: If people think he is gone they're wrong..the Brazilian striker seems to be back in form after scoring 2 goals against Japan in his last match.
Well friends I have wriiten all possible results according to me .....please do comment what you feel will be the outcome of the remaining matches of The FIFA World Cup 2006 and the winner of the Golden Boot.
