Well we wanted to buy furniture for our new flat and was impressed with the options present at Evok due to the clean look of the furniture on display and ended up buying everything from Evok.
We were initially hesitant to pay 100% advance due to our experience with general workmanship and finishing issues with such products and moved out from the cold arrogant and impersonal Rajouri store to their Gurgaon store which surprisingly had helpful and warm staff.
Our horror started from the point the delivery started. It became very apparent that the communication in the entire system was slow and irregular. We are a working couple and are available only on Sundays for accepting the delivery. We had to negotiate with umpteen number of people with delivery timings.Ultimately the furnitures were received late in the evening on a week day.
When the installation started we realised that the sofa was not as per the specs and design as ordered. This was brought to their notice. It took them ten days and innumerable phone calls to call back and assure a replacement within fifteen days, by which we noticed huge cracks had developed on the table.Immediately the next morning my suit got ripped by a a nail head whichby then(10 days) had started to peek out of the table. Another round of telephone calls and a week later a technical evaluation of the same was done by EVOK where they thankfully agreed to the defect and decided to replace the table and one chair.
About 35 days of follow up which included even calling up their regional head( who takes your call but never has the time to revert himslef) a table was sent again at about 9 pm when while installing the same it was realised that the replacement table had bucked legs with irregular height and the chair was of a different design.
A fortnight of follow ups later the table and the sofa was delivered at about 10 30 pm. The table was installed and the old sofa was dismantled and taken out and a piece of textured wall was damaged in the process. At about midnight while opening the packing of the sofas and the chair we realized that they have sent us another set of sofas with the wrong design and the replacement dining chair was the same like couple of weeks back. In absolute frustration I did call up their regional head again and was offered a quick response which in fact took about another fotnight for the right set of sofas to arrive, which I learned to my utter surprise was made by a third party vendor from Mongolpuri.
As I compose this review, I still await delivery of the dining chair and it has been more than 100 days after I took that regrettable decision of choosing Evok.
My conclusion is that they are ok for bric bracs and other small stuff but dont ever get into furniture- they will not only take money from you but also would take away your sleep, damage your clothes and house and would need million calls to get them to react. On service aspect and product quality they are no better than some of the unscrupulous traders at Kirti Nagar!
