I HAVE BEEN A EUREKA FORBES CUSTOMER SINCE 2006. I HAVE A WATER PURIFIER UNDER WARRANTY INITIALLY AND THEN UNDER 3 YEAR AMCS. THERE HAVE BEEN SERVICE ISSUES, BUT I MADE A MISTAKE OF WANTING TO BUY AN AQUAGUARD WATER PURIFIER AGAIN FOR MY NEW RESIDENCE. THE BIGGER MISTAKE WAS CONTACTING EUREKA FORBES TO BUY IT!
I CONTACTED EUREKA FORBES CUSTOMER CARE ON 26TH FEBRUARY AND CHECKED IF THERE’S AN EXCHANGE SCHEME ON. THE REPLY WAS YES AND I WAS INFORMED THAT SOMEONE WOULD COME IN TO DO A DEMO AND EXPLAIN THE BUYBACK SCHEME. ON 27TH, 2 AQUAGUARD SALESMEN TURNED UP AT MY HOME AND SHOWED ME 2 LAMINATED CARDS WHICH HAD DETAILS OF THEIR LATEST WATER PURIFIERS. NO DEMO, JUST LAMINATED CATALOGUES! THEY BOTH INSISTED THAT I BOOK THE NEW WATER PURIFIER BY PAYING 1000/-. I MENTIONED THAT I HAD INFORMED THE CUSTOMER CARE TOO, THAT I JUST WANT TO FIND OUT THE LATEST MODELS AND ALSO, I NEED TO CHECK THE SOURCE OF WATER SUPPLY AT MY NEW RESIDENCE, TO DECIDE WHICH MODEL WAS SUITABLE. THEY KEPT INSISTING AND REFUSED TO LEAVE THE HOUSE TILL I PAID THEM AT LEAST 500/-. I WAS PROMISED THAT IF I DECIDED NOT TO BUY A PURIFIER, THEY WOULD RETURN THE 500/-. THEY ALSO TOOK AWAY THE OLD WATER PURIFIER(E-NOVA), SAYING THAT THEY WOULD GET ME 1000/- FOR IT. PLEASE NOTE THAT I DID NOT ORDER A WATER PURIFIER, I SAID I WOULD CHECK AND GET BACK TO THEM.
ON 28TH, I WAS STUCK IN A FAMILY MEDICAL EMERGENCY AND COULDN’T TAKE CALLS. ON 1ST MARCH, I GET A SMS FROM FEDEX SAYING THAT A PACKAGE IS DUE FOR DELIVERY. THIS SET OFF SOME ALARMS RINGING. ON CHECKING, AM TOLD THAT IT IS A DR. AQUAGUARD MAGNA UV WATER PURIFIER FROM EUREKA FORBES! I DID NOT PLACE AN ORDER. NO CHEQUE, NO CASH PAYMENT, NO VERBAL PROMISE EITHER! I DID NOT TAKE DELIVERY OF THE APPLIANCE. THE SALESMEN STARTED SENDING ME MESSAGES TO TAKE DELIVERY OF THE PURIFIER. I INFORMED THE SENIOR OF THE 2, THAT I DID NOT ORDER ANYTHING AND LET ME GET BACK WITH THE MODEL NUMBER I WOULD NEED. THE GUY KEPT INSISTING THAT I TAKE DELIVERY! I WAS UTTERLY DISGUSTED BY THIS WHOLE NONSENSE AND DECIDED NOT TO PLACE THE ORDER. I ASKED HIM TO GIVE ME BACK THE 500/-. HE GOT NASTY AND STARTED ABUSING. SAID THAT I CANNOT CANCEL THE ORDER. WHAT ORDER?! THEY HAD PROMISED THAT THEY WOULD RETURN THE 500/- IF I DID NOT PLACE AN ORDER. I DID NOT, THEY PROCEED TO PLACE AN ORDER ON MY BEHALF AND THEN KEEP HOUNDING ME AT ALL ODD HOURS(I HAVE MY CALL LIST AS PROOF)! THEY HAVE MY 500/- AND MY OLD WATER PURIFIER WITH THEM. THEY REFUSE TO GIVE BACK EITHER!
