I needed a Water Purifier within around 2-3 days. So, I went to the market, did a bit of looking around and honed in on the Aqua Sure Crystal Water Purifier from Eureka Forbes. They seemed reasonable with a promise of installation on premise within 48 working hours.
I booked the product at Lakshmi Steel Bandar at Aundh on Friday 16/4/2010. I was told, it'd be delivered to my place at around 3 next day i.e. on Saturday. So, I ended up wasting my Saturday at home and called the dealer, when he again promised that it'd come in on Saturday itself and that my installation request had been sent to the company. So, I'd should be getting the installation guy coming at my place on Monday or latest by Tuesday, considering Saturday is a half day.
Finally, the dealer (Lakshmi Steel Bhandar) managed to deliver the box to my place on Sunday at 6.00 pm. I thought doesn't matter since the installation will happen on Monday in any case. I'd stacked up drinking water to last that long. On Monday, there was absolutely no interaction from the good folks at Eureka Forbes or from Lakshmi Steel Bhandar. There was no contact center number available for them either. Moreover, the people at the dealer were not picking up the phone either.
So, I decided to wait it out till Tuesday. When by Tuesday noon, I did not get anything from either Eureka Forbes or the dealer, I called both of them up. Eureka Forbes said the dealer would handle it. The dealer said the company has the installation request. It is now Wednesday Noon - needless to say the Purifier sitting in the box in my house. Today evening, I will install the product myself. And until then, I will have to resort to buying drinking water from the market.
Please do not trust the 48 hour installation promise from either Eureka Forbes Ltd. and Lakshmi Steel Bhandar in Aundh. You will have to install the product yourself.
Finally, I talked to the dealer again i.e. Lakshmi Steel Bhandar. To his credit, he got Eureka Forbes to come and install the product on Wednesday, for 300 bucks.
