Besides the other complaints you will find online, you must spare some time reading mine too. I had the worst experience ever while dealing with Emirates Airlines customer service. I would advise anyone I meet against taking Emirates.
Just last month, I was in Mumbai and wanted to get my flight schedule altered. Emirates had the availability, but the phone agent couldn't process my transaction. I kept insisting on it due to urgent reasons and he rudely back answered to cover his fault. I had to keep repeating my details and explaining my urgency and the agent’s behavior just kept getting ruder. I requested them to cancel my ticket instead if it can’t be rescheduled, and waive some amount and refund.
The phone agent put me on an eternal hold and came back with a blunt ‘No’. I was on the call trying to get these things sorted for hours in a row and ended up with no outcome. I also incurred extra phone bill because my phone was on international roaming. It is tougher being in another country and dealing with these hassles. Emirates’ bad service was an added pain during the whole process. I spoke with my bank and verified that everything was fine. They had almost convinced me that I had an invalid card.
An efficient customer service of a company should be able to help its customer with all answers or at least apologies for no help and bad behavior. Emirates Airlines fails in both. Emirates may have nice airplanes, but other services are way below the required standards. I will recommend using any of the other carriers instead of Emirates.
