I would like to share my review of a very good experience I had with Electrolux refrigerator. Electrolux is a very good brand. Though I had absolutely no problems with my 175 litre Electrolux Alpha refrigerator, one day I observed very minute cracks on the inside material. The cracks were similar to one we find on the earth when the temperatures are very high. However, I preferred to take up the matter directly with the company. The way I had written the facts to the company, they were convinced and I had my refrigerator replaced after using it for about 11 months. A point to not here is that the model was discontinued and so the company offered me to replace it with a higher model and wanted me to pay the difference amount of about Rs. 600/-. I objected to this and argued that the company was offering me a higher model because it does not have the same model to offer. I was not at fault if the required model was not available. The company finally agreed to waive the difference amount. Now there was one more dispute.
The replacement was delivered but I was asked to pay the transportation charge of Rs. 100/-. I silently paid it to the transporter but again took up the matter with the company arguing that I should not have been asked to pay for the transportation, as the refregerator was replaced only because of defect in it, otherwise the question of replacement would not have risen. On this, I was the transportation charge was also refunded to me. Surprisingly, a senior personel from the company came to deliver to me the transportation charge. Actually, he wanted to see me and know who such an alert person was I.
Perhaps, it is the first and the only case in Electrolux's history that a higher model of refrigerator was given as replacement after 11 months of purchase. Thus I found the response of the company very good and they were very cooperative. After this incidence, I also succeeded in few other such cases wherein I had a DVD player replaced with a Home theatre, a defective TV replaced with a higher model.
By way of this review I would like to convey to others that they should be alert about their rights and should not hesitate to fight with the concerned personnel for redressal of their problems.
