The Virgin Buying Experience at Ebay. Review on Ebay

Recently I was looking for a couple of books that my Pastor told me about in order to teach my ladies Bible Class at my church.

The Online Store

http://www.ebay.com has a wonderful and full homepage where you can find links on the left hand side for just about anything you could want. To name a few: eBay Motors, eBay Stores, coins, collectables, home, health, stamps and so much more. Clicking on each one can be fun because you can find so many interesting things for sell. But, sometimes it can be frustrating because there can be so many of the same item and then you have to look at each one, read about the item, check out the sellers to find the best one for you, bid and wait.

However, on the funny side you can find some really meaningful and funny text about the items for sale and the people. Remember the guy who sold his ex wives wedding dress? That one made the National news. LOL.

In the center of the home page you will find a search engine where you can type in specific items and be taken right to them. This is always a wonderful feature for me at any website.

You can find links for Live Help, tips for buying and selling, college store, vintage Barbie, and of course you can search the eBay stores. Also in the center of the home page you will find links for the Featured Items, which do change constantly. In fact if you leave the home page and come back the Featured Item has changed. This page is very neat and clean. The web pages all load quickly and with no problems.

Across the top you will find links that help you find your way around the site. For instance; your eBay, register, search (where you can search for items or eBay sellers/buyers) services, site map, sell, community and others. Each link takes you to a different page and quickly too.

What I Bought

The books I bid on were rather fun and nervous to do and I found it rather easy. I found one of the books for 2.99 and bid 3.00 to see what happened. Of course I was hoping it stayed that way. But of course it didn?t. I got out bid and had to bid again. I wound up paying 5.51 for one book and 7.00 for the other, both being the same book by different Sellers.

In the back of my mind I am thinking that these Sellers had friends to bid higher in hopes that the person really wanting the item would keep bidding higher and wound up paying way to much for something. Now, I don?t know that this is true, it?s just my thoughts. But just in case it were to be true I think we all should keep that thought in the back of our minds.

Putting my bid in was a simple procedure. I simply click ?bid? and put in the amount and then waited. EBay kept me informed of when someone out bid me by sending me an email. When the time period was over, eBay sent me another email advising me that I had won the final bid and I needed to pay for my item. In the email they sent me was link that took me right to the item I won and from there I could choose method of pay. Which for me was Pay Pal®. This was just so very easy to do. I was finished within a couple of minutes.

When I went to the item won I was informed that I needed to pay s/h charges. This particular Seller didn?t have that information available. So, via eBay I emailed the Seller and within a day I was told the information. (Hurricane Charley was heading my way so I informed the Seller of this letting them know I wanted the item but if I got without power it may be a couple days before I got back to them. The Seller was more then helpful and patient under the circumstances.)

Paying For Your Purchase

Most Sellers have it set up where you can purchase through Pay Pal®. Some use credit card or checks. All Sellers will have posted on the item page of interest what the s/h charge will be and how they accept payment. This information is always easy to find down towards the bottom of the item page.

You can also buy insurance for your item/s if you want to for more money of course. The s/h charges range from 3.00 and up to over 100.00 depending on what you have purchased and where you are having the item sent.

You can also leave a feedback about your purchase for or against the Seller and your transaction. I have found that most Sellers receive great feedback for this is a business for them and they want to do well.

How I Feel

I have enjoyed looking at eBay for years and now that I have finally stepped up the plate and bid on something and actually won it I will most likely try again. The books I got and needed were in good condition. The sellers were good to deal with and the use of my Pay Pal® account was easy as usual. I found that some sellers would take checks or credit cards.

Everything was just so easy to use. Easy to buy and pay for. The Sellers that I did business with seemed to be good people and good business. I am very happy with my few eBay purchases and will certainly do so again.

When I mentioned early that it was scary it really was making that first bid. My hand actually trembled because it was like going into unknown waters. Was this Seller legit? Was eBay legit? Would it work out for me? How much would I have to go to get the item I wanted? How much was I willing to pay?

That is a very important question for anyone! How much will you pay for an item? Well, that will depend on the pocket book and how much you can afford. However, I can certainly see where a person can get carried away with bidding because once you bid you sort of claim that item. In a little while you find that someone out bid you and this can make you angry. And so then you have to be very careful with your bidding and not pay more than the item is worth or more than you can afford.

For me it worked out great. At the other locations I buy books from they books I wanted ran over 10.00 each plus s/h charges and the books would have cost me over 25.00. Here I got both books (one of them I actually got a 2 for 1 deal) with s/h for less than 18.00. I had no problems at all with eBay or the Sellers.

I found also that from the eBay Store I could go back to the eBay home page. The link for https://ebay.com opened up a completely new web page. I liked that because it allowed me to still see the other web page.

I am also able to stay signed in to ?my eBay? at all times. Track my purchases and my bids. I can find out when I am out bid here as well. I can also pay for purchases from this page. I can also keep up with items that I may sell and all items that I buy. I like this feature very well. I can also customize this page to suit just me. That is really cool.

Overall, I am very happy with https://ebay.com and will use again. The process can take about a week from beginning to end. This of course is if you happen to bid on the first day that the item was put up for sell. For me, that is the way it was. So I had to wait a week before I knew if I had won the items or not. But that was okay.

If you bid on an item that has just an hour or two you need to pay close attention to that bid so you don?t get out bid.

Some Sellers do ship world wide but the cost can get costly. https://ebay.com also has business in many countries.
