Fly Buy Dubai. Review on Dubai

Yes this is the slogan of Dubai Tourism Promotion Board....I have only seen two slogans which have been true to what they have proclaimed...one is this and the other one for Kerala(Gods own country...more about it in my next review)

The moment you get down from your flight and get into the airport you can feel they value tourist...though they have a wierd process where in even for a tourist visa you need to be sponsored by someone(which all hotels will do)...I have not been able to understand the logic of this silly thing...Anyway

There is not much to see in Dubai but lots to do...shopping...dancing...having fun and all...

In terms of shopping you can buy electronic items at really cheap rates....I havent come across any place cheaper than this...Buy from the shops in the city and bargain shamelessly...You will get a good deal

You can also buy wtches and pens and jewellery from shops in City Centre...here also bargain and they will give you a discount(Just check out the prices at three four places)

You can also buy clothes and kids stuff at places like Lamcy...the stuff is good and cheap

Be cautious of taxi drivers...always go in for meterd taxis...if you cant get one please fix rates before you get in....People are generally nice and helpful...Most people can speak english and some even hindi...You will find indian film music is popular...People are fond of driving fast and screeching to a halt but no one violates traffic rules

Go for the desert sfari...it stats slowly and you wonder what have you got into....but soon the driver will show you he means business...The expereince is amazing....You feel the vehicle will overturn but it does not...After the ride you swear to yourself not to get in again(but believe me it is temporary...you would do it again)...In the evening go for some belly dancing....they have this place where it is set like a desert camp with hookahs and other stuff....It is good clean fun

There are various discos and clubs ...Pyramids is one which I remember...Open all night...but terribly expensive...Go only if you must

The Duty Free shop is amazing with its range of products...Apart from the range the guys are so customer centric that it is hard to believe....I bought a Tissot watch from there and while coming back to India I saw the same model at Oman duty free for 50 dollars less...I wrote to this guys on the feedback form on their website and they told me it wont be possible to refund the 50 dollars but they will have my watch picked up and refund the full amount...I told them to go ahead and this guy from TNT picked up the watch...They called me up and told me that they have got the watch and in two days the money was credited in my credit card....Unbelievable service...

Also visit the gold souks...it is fun to watch these shops with yellow metal everywhere...The place is good for a 3-4 day holiday
