Dramatic and slighly suspenseful story about a Hospital Doctor Joe Darrow (Kevin Costner) who has lost his wife Emily (Susanna Thompson) in a Red Cross Expedition in Venezuela. To keep his mind of the incident becomes a cold hearted workaholic person. One Night a cancer patient Jeffrey (Robert Bailey Jr.) has a near death experience and he tells Joe that Emily Wants to see him. This thing happens with a couple of other patients. Joe is desperate to find out if there is a message that Emily is trying to give him. He also sees the patient draw signs which are what he called as ''A Crucifix made of Jello''. It all sums up to the climax which makes him reach the jungles of Venezuela where Emily had gone on a Red Cross Expedition and find out what really happened to Emily.
The Ending is the most crucial part of the movie and it really depends on what kind of mindset you have at that moment. Just about Good Performance By Kevin Costner who is there in each and every scene of the movie. Well Supported By kathy Bates, Susanna Thompson and 2 scene cameo By Linda Hunt. Does Not demand repeated viewings but worth watching atleast once.

1) Harrison Ford was initially offered the role of Kevin Costner but he refused as he wanted a year off from work. 2) As no outsider was allowed in the yanomani tribe viilage in Venezuela the entire village was constructed in a remote island in Hawai with atleast 100 extras from Venezuela flown specially by air plane there.
3) The Actual Yanamoni tribe do not allow outsiders in their village and the tribe shown in the movie are different from the yanamoni tribe except that most of the physical characteristics is pretty much the same.
