Dove's claim - "Leaves hair noticeably softer, smoother and naturally more vibrant." - is not true
I have been a loyal user of Dove cosmetics for many years now. when it comes to skin I cannot think using a product other than Dove. so when they launched their hair care product I grabbed it. I shifted my loyalty from Garnier. I started with Dove White Shampoo followed by a conditioner. my hair which is wavy started showing signs of dryness, became frizzy & unmanageable.
I opted for Dove blue next, with the hope that extra moisturisation would help me. my beauty therapist used to warn me about the deterioting condition of my hair. but I had no alternative shampoo to shift to. in the meantime, my friends & relatives also began saying that Dove didn't do any good to their hair either. I noticed that Dove didn't satisfy people with Dry, normal or Oily hair. after using Dove for about a year or so, I quitted it on the recommendation of beauty therapist.
I am now using Matrix Biolage, & in 2 washes itself I am seeing teh difference. people around me have started completing again how good the hair looks. I have now learnt a lesson, never fiddle with your skin or hair, once damaged, you have to pay a huge price for it. for people who want to try Dove, use a sachet & then go ahead to buy a bottle if you feel that the shampoo & conditioner is perfect for you.
(Dove uses a harsh cleansing agent- Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, which is one of the harsh ingredients used in a shampoo which tends to make the hair dry after wash. Also Dove contains Silicones which may not suit every hair type.)
