well !! I am back with a bang! After a hectic(exam fever) week that almost killed me, my friends' decided to give me a b'thday bash and took me to Dor (knowing the fact that I just simply adore nagesh kukunoor for his filmmaking style)!!!!!!!

"Blend simplicity with substance and sashay down bollywood's box office with a defeaning power "- that seems to be director nagesh 's secret fomula of film making!!! After Iqbal ,that soul stirring testament to human endeavour,he comes up with dor,a film that touches ur soul once again and which is currently making indian desi cinema the biggest bet in the field of entertainment !!! here I salute the NEW WAVE OF NEW AGE CREATIVITY ,WHICH IS COMPLETELY HOME GROWN AND BORROWS NOTHING FROM NOWHERE.Iqbal,Omkara,Munnabhai and now Dor...just to name a few!!Dor makes a string feminist statement and all along the rivetting friendhsip between the 2 polarised women and the events that bring them together ,keep tuggin ur heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two men leave for Saudi Arabia in search of bread and butter from 2 distant places leaving behind two young women. The first Zeenat(gul panag) is a fiercely independent woman from a small town in himachal pradesh while the second is meera(ayesha takia),a traditional rajput bride who is content to live her most of her life behind the veil.now comes the spice....... Zeenat 's husband is arrested for the murder of meera's husband and is sentenced to death by saudi authorities .The only way the distraught woman can save her husband is to find meera and convince her to sign the clemenchy papers !!!!!!!THATS THE DILEMMA and the drama of this mesmerising little parable on "insaniyat" and womens emancipation.WELL ITS NOT ONLY THE UNUSUAL PLOT BUT IT IS THE PREFORMANCE WHICH LEAVES U BREATHLESS .SHREYAS PROVES THAT iQBAL WAS NO ACCIDENT and gul gives one of the most convincing portrayals of her career .But its ayesha takia who steals the show. Her journey from joyous subjugation-where she is content to dance b4 her husband and be at the beck and call of her inlaws- to silent emncipation is abs endearing.Whats the gal been doing gyrating to garish tunes all this while

SERIOUCLY PPL DONT GIV DOR A MISS.it was very refreshing for me !!!!
