Let me share one of my memorable travel experiences with you...

Diveagar- truly a divine place!!!

It is situated almost 150kms from Pune ; the itinerary is a treat to nature lovers with wide range of vegetations, flora & fauna. From Paud Road ->Mulshi->Tamhini Ghat->Mangaon->Mhalsa & Finally DIVEAGAR.

The ghat is full of lush green vegetation and dense forests. We had been there in the month of October so just after rains the mountains and plains were covered with thick velvet of grass and small beautiful flowers , weeds.

Diveagar is a small town in Konkan famous for its beetelnut plantations, the Suvarnaganesh Temple and the sun-kissed beach.

We reached Diveagar by 12:30p.m; relaxed ourselves, had our lunch, took a small nap and then headed for the beach. The climate was quiet cool and relaxing.

The Biggest attraction of Diveagar is its secluded, virgin beach. It is stretched almost 4-5kms and is very clean and tidy. The place is calm and soothing and you feel heavenly here. The whole stretch of beach is laced with numerous Suru trees. As soon as you step on the beach your heart melts as the sand melts in the sea water; by viewing the awesome sea spread across. One feels as though the sea invites you, and the cool and clean sea water welcomes you by washing your feet. The experience has really no words. We had a hearty time there playing in the sea water, making sand castles and dunes, collecting various shells and corals, taking lots of snaps etc.You just forget everything and get mesmerised by this sea beach. We viewed the sun-set and it was marvellous. Finally exhausted we got back to our places, had lip-smacking dinner and then relaxed ourselves.

The next day we waked up early at the chirping of birds. After breakfast we went to the-Suvarnaganesh temple. It is a very old temple and the idol of Ganesh is made up of pure 24 carat gold weighing almost 1.33kgs. We took the blessings there and again headed for our destination-the beautiful beach.

We spent almost 3-4 hrs on the beach but still were not tired. Finally it was time to move and with heavy heart we had to say "Goodbye Beach. See you soon!!"

We stayed there at a place called - "Anand Yatri". It is owned by Bhatwadekar family-(9323137055).You can also check their website-anandyatri.in

They have this beautiful "wadi" full of beetelnut and coconut trees. Never you might feel so close to nature as you feel here. It is calm and serene.

They serve delicious home made food; I swear their "ukdiche modak" are just mind blowing. On your request they also treat you with fresh macchi and non-veg; which is awesome.

Besides you have MTDC Exotica Resort which is on the beach itself, also there are many home based accomodations, who provide you with good food. The people are very kind and friendly and you just feel -"at home!!"

On weekends you have to do prior reservations.

Harihareshwar (famous as Dakshin Kashi) , Shrivardhan, Murud -Janjeera are the other attractions and sea beaches around Diveagar.

Best seasons: Oct-Feb.
