Though India should be glad that we have DSL now, I am almost crying ever since I took a DSL connection from Dishnet. I wonder how is this company operating.
I took my connection in July. When I booked the connection, I had to visit their local DSLAM centre almost every day to beg and urge their engineer to install it. Finally after 22 days, the connection was installed and engineer asked me for a ''Mithai Ka Dabba''.
I would not comment on the speed since I am a single user so the speed is OK for me. But they have a 40% downtime rate. You wake up every morning and switch on the computer. You can't say for sure whether you'll be connected or not.
Customer Service : One Word. Pathetic. You can get thru a Kaun Banega Crorepati line but you cannot get thru their numbers. The nos. are constantly engaged and even if you get thru after trying for several hours, their support reps do not have a clue of what your problem is. They use the favourite line ''Sir,I have ESCALATED your problem and it will be resolved within an hour''. Try calling them for a month and maybe your PLEA is heard.
Billing : Uff, I wonder if their accountants have even passed their XII grades. Do not exclaim or get angry if you receive a bill which shows full outstanding amounts in every bill after making timely payments. I had a billing problem recently and had to visit their office to get it clarified. And I was not alone. There were many people holding the bill files , waiting endlessly for someone to atleast come down to the lobby and sort out things. I was made to wait for 45 minutes before I was finally attended.
One guy who had paid 40,000 in cash told me that even the cash amount did not reflect in the bill and instead his connection was deactivated because of the outstanding.
So bottomline : These Dishnet guys believe in a policy where they like to Blame and HARM the customer for faults they do everyday. They will deactivate your connection if your bill shows an outstanding (which it normally does) without going into details as to why it has happened.
Wait for other players in DSL. Never Buy Dishnet. This company is HELL.
