Dishnet Poor Service. Review on Dishnet DSL

I have a Dishnet ISP connection (now VSNL- TATA Indicom) which is non functional for nearly a month. I am utterly disgusted by the poor quality of service provided by Dishnet, Repeated complaints seem to be falling on deaf ears. My connection stopped working on the 15th of Oct 04, Each time I called them their customer support representative takes down the complaint and assures that it will be fixed within a day or so.

However it is now 24 days since my Internet connection stopped working and the problem has not been resolved yet. This is in spite of the numerous calls made to their support department.

The people who are supposed to fix the problem have an utter disregard for time. I have had a very bad experience with one of their support people who after repeated confirming fail to turn up on the schedule date and time to look into the problem.

In the prior months too the connection has been very unstable, it gets disconnected every 30 seconds and takes a minimum of 4 to 5 attempts to re-connect.

Though the company is very prompt in terminating connections if the monthly bill of Rs 1,000/- is not paid on time, they do not have any ethics or moral responsibility when the fault is on their side. Thought I went to their website and mailed all the possible email ID?s listed, I did not get any reply so far.

The problems were there right from day one. Though I had paid the Installation charge on March 31st itself, there was almost 1.5 months of delay in getting the connection. In spite of making frequent calls to the Dishnet customer care, I received my connection only during the second week of May. In fact, they had promised me that the connection will be given to me within a week or ten days on the day I had paid the initial deposit.
