Dish TV is in competiton with Tata Sky. Both are same today. They are trying to catch their share of the market under the marketing strategy of providing free channels viewing for the few months. They want to sell thier product like Potatos and Onions and not like a specialised equipment to provide better services. By offering 3 months or 6 months free viewerships, the authorised agents and shops are making fool of the consumer. The consumer is getting attracted becuse he is looking at the short term gain of 3-6 months free viewership.
So our advise to dear consumers is that please do not get attracted with these offers. These companies still are in the nacent stage. They do not have enough man power to set the system and equipment is right working order. By offering free( we indians are too adapted to free schemes) we are getting attracted and land up paying for the equipment, and then we crib, cry and coax the shop owners and the the companies when they are not able to set up the equipment. The persons selling the equipment firstly are not fully conversant with or do not want to be conversant with, because they too are not consumer friendly, but are interested in earning their commission by selling junk.
Our systems are so bad that if once purchsed a product and If I would like to return it as I am not satisfied with either the product or services, then I have to spend more than what I have paid for to get a refund.
So consumers - please verify the following before you buy a Dish TV product. Have all these in writing from the shop owner.
The list of channels that will be shown free and paid. Do not get carried away that all the channels will be shown.
the address and tel. nos. of the of service centres.
The time period in which the equipment will be installed.
who will install it.
If not installed then what is the return policy.
If installed and the reception is not good then what is the return policy.
What is the customer care nos.
Now before you pay for the prodcut try to bargain with the shop keeper from where you buy that you will make payment only after satisfactory installation of the product. If he says no then tell him that you do not buy from him.
We should in-culcate this habbit by refusing to buy unless the equipment is installed satisfactorily. Thus there will be a sea change in the attitude of the companies. they will take care that the equipments is installed in time and to the satisfaction of the consumers. Intitially there will be inconveniency to the consumer, but it is better to face the same then to get ragged with poor product or service.
