I am writing a review to help prospective buyers of Dish make a rational decision and not get carried away by Mr. SRK's message - wish karo dish karo.


The dealers are very helpful. You can get discount on the Set top box price if you discuss with 2 or more dealers.


The installation is completed very fast. But the quality of installation is extremely poor. The cables are laid out  as if it is a temporary job and some one else will come again to finish the work-which does not happen even if you complain- may be that is the best they can do.


The program variety is good so is the payment follow up. Delayed payment means immediate downgrading of programs - with SMS asking for payment every 12 hours!


The service support is BAD - real bad. I am sure if I have had more difficult experience. To lodge a claim you dial the toll free number. It is busy most of the time. If you are lucky, you get connected and go through the procedure of punching buttons till you are to be connected to a staff. Now you wait as you are important but not important enough to be talking to  the staff so easily.


After testing my patience, a staff became free to take the call. "Your complaint has been noted - it will be corrected between 24-48 hours. So far so good.


After 48 hours I called. "I am sorry and apologize for delay, the complaint will be attended in the next 24 hours, "


After the next 24 hours - the same reply - this time with personal assurance.


After another 24 hours - the same reply - this time with - we have given priority to your complaint!


I could not understand the people who take the call- it is obvious they have no control over the technicians who will correct the fault - why give false assurances? I do not know if other DTH provides are any better but it seems Dish TV has taken more customers than they can support and  therefore overall experience is very bad for the existing customer.


As a existing user, I will offer a negative recommendation for any one asking for advice- take another DTH connection - stay clear of DISH !
