DDLJ one of the biggest hits of Bollywood ever, is still famous for its two lead characters Raj and Senorita.Infact these names are still used by couples in Valentine Day
messages when they want to hide their actual identity.The pair of SRK and Kajol won accolades for the skillfully conceived movie.
It was an Aditya Chopra movie who certainly hit the bull’s eye with the kind of storyline he came up with.Even he may not have ever imagined its enormous success till it reached the theatres.SRK and Kajol particularly in this movie were teamed up in the roles of young adults, the kind of phase
which arrives in everybody’s life, in which every person only sees the colourful existence of this world.
Raj , the role enacted by SRK, is the naughty son of Anupam Kher, who is bubbling with the spirit of youth and Kajol is the simple, duty bound, homely daughter of her strict and disciplined father. She insists to go on a world tour and her father agrees to it.But the ride of her life took her into the world of romance where she finds her ultimate lover SRK who has boarded the same train with his friends.Both keep having comic fights and are even abandoned at an unknown place due to their inability to catch the train.Now SRK spares no moment to irritate Kajol who is incapable of tolerating the stupid companion.But certain events are predestined in every human’s life and with every passing day, they are unknowingly drawn towards each other, and SRK is forced to confess his love for Kajol.Kajol gets back home and tells her mother
about her newly found love which is overheard by Amrish Puri.He immediately decides to return back to India and wants Kajol to get married off to his family friend’s son, the role enacted by Parmeet Sethi.
But how could SRK let that happen?He arrives with his bag and baggage to the same town where Kajol was staying with her parents.Kajol feels emotionally secure after witnessing his devotion towards her.Kajol’s mother, the lovely farida Jalal advises them to run away and far away but SRK refuses to take her daughter without the official permission of her father .The mission was difficult to accomplish but SRK is meant
for making every impossible mission possible.Afterall he is the hero of the movie.He befriends the fiancée of Kajol and wins over his trust only to snatch away his to be wife.
Amrish Puri gets to know about the ulterior motive of SRK and there are fighting scenes without which any Bollywood movie is supposed to be incomplete.Then the pair of SRK and Kajol is allowed to flee to their destination by the potential villain, the father of Kajol.
The movie succeeded in drawing audience to the movie.Songs were the heart and soul of the movie and were major chartbusters of those times.It might be having the kind of magic pill which every director strives to prepare but Aditya Chopra undoubtedly revived the prospects of potential growth for typical Bollywood masala stuff.
