Dil Chata hain is a remarkable movie, I never knew there could a great friendship between guys, I thought only girls would have great friendships.
The movie is about the friendship of three guys,
Akash(Aamir), Sameer(Saif) and Sid(Akshaye) and the close bonding between the three.
Akash is a play boy and is very cynical of love. Deepa is a girl whos in luv with him and he s always avoiding her, one such example is when the three friends book into a hotel in Goa, they spot Deepa, immediately Akash will hide behind some pot plants, she spots Sid/Sameer and asks them where is akash. Instead of protecting their fren, they immediately point him out hiding behind the plants/Shrubbery.
He also has a funny sense of humour. I remember the scene where hes sitting with preity zinta in a Sidney opera and he makes funny faces at the white lady whos sittin next to him. That was so hilarious (it reminds me of the Mr Bean comedy where there is a similar scene) .....scene two, both aamir/preity are intending to take the subway train somehow preity is left behind and shes feels so lonely as there isnt any soul in sight, then she sees a beggar who looks real crazy comin towards her, she gets real scared.... just then Aamir arrives in the nick of time, shes so relieved . I really laughed when Aamir looks at the beggar and hugs him, one tends to wonder whos crazy!!!! hihihhhi
Comin to Sameer , hes one funny guy who thinks hes in love with every female he meets. In Goa when when all frens had gone for a holiday, he falls in love with a white girl, only later to be robbed of all his valuables. she turns out to be a thief......
He finally finds his true love, Sonali but she has a boy friend, whos very time conscious. He s so drab and he would tell when precisely he met sonali, what they did and all the trivia.
Sid is a very serious guy who can expresses his thoughts and feeling thru his paintings. Hes the most sober of the lot.
The movie was simply funny, the song ''woh ladki hain kahan''
where the song is done in the 1960s style, u see women dancing in big hairdos and tight salwars.....and funny butterfly dance.
The scenes in Australia was aesthetic .
Preity looks real preety considering the fact that no make up was used . The scenes in Goa , was simply amazing and aesthetically shot. makes u wanna go to Goa right away.
However what I could not digest was Sid fallin in luv with a lady whos old enough to be his mother(Dimple). Though she did not reciprocate the same feelin.I watched this movie four times and I never got bored.....and the music too is good , each and every song.
