We made a booking with Devi Gudda retreat at Chickmagalur. This is their website.
They even took an advance with no receipt and no bank account, they took only a self cheque from us, we too had no go as we had a holiday and all other places were booked. We were a group of 10 and they told us that it was a house with 4 rooms so we assumed that we all could stay together and play games etc. We were a group with 4 married couples and 2 bachelors. The guy asked us to call him for directions and to our surprise we were directed to a new place called Naduvinamadkal cottages.
They took 1800 for each person. and we have to stay like 5 people in each room, 1800x5 would be 9000, we could have stayed at Taj. the food was really bad nothing special we had normal food like dal, beans, rasam. Nothing to beat the morning breakfast where we had rice balls made out of the previous days rice.
Alteast these guys were a little curtious and we cant say much about them as they are just growing. This place is still better than booking devi Gudda they said that they would have given us direct discounts if we had come to them first.
But our expectations were not met.
All girls had to stay in one room which was away from the other rooms and it was totally dark.
Devi Gudda is a definite cheat for people who go as a family. God knows if the place really exists. The owner goes unreachable after all this.
Dont trust and dont give advance to anyone who is not reliable. We still have the confirmation mail from the guy.
