And you said addiction is bad. Perhaps you mean narcotics and not MS.Isn’t it fun to be addicted? As sense of pride seeps in that you at least are doing something with dedication, and something that you love doing. I shall come to the addiction part by the end of the review. Then, I might be more convincing as you might be occupied thinking legal complications and consequences now.

Get ready for the trip.

Dev D. Anurag Kashyap’s next fix for its audience. But before you give in yourself to the release next month(I guess), score the music first. Remember - not in excess for the beginners, especially who have been having constant healthy doses of traditional Bollywood music. What I mean is romantic nutrition; work out on dance numbers, and lyrics+ music*“emotionally filling”.

Give yourself a break. Get ready for some mood swings. There are 18 types altogether.Too much for a contemporary Indian cinema, but don’t worry, no wonder you will ask for more. Remember addiction?: -). Don’t think low of me if I say am myself listening to the track since 5o’clock yesterday evening.

What you do in 1:49 minutes? Type a message. Take two bites of a burger. Wash your face. Wait for red light to go green. Change your lothes. Apply face cream. Hold. Give an ear to Ranjhna. You will remember those 1:49 minutes of trip. Touch of traditional folk music touch spelt in hypnotic https://lyrics. Talk to me if you remember.

“…Kho na raha mera yaar

Tune sang tuneang na lagayi

Birha ki agnimein chokhi jalayi

Hadd se behadd hadd kar di…”

Singers: Shilpa Rao and Kshitij. I do not know them.

Now before I take you to the roller coaster ride, just to mention, the singers vary in almost every number. It’s a mix of some highly mutilating lyrics & music in unusual patterns. Call it something new coz’ I can’t give many examples from the past. Wait, I have few.Remember No Smoking?Tare Zameen Par? Rock On? Oye Lucky Lucky Oye?One thing common in their music was fresh breeze of talents and attempt to present something very new. Uncommon.Unusual. I guess, Dev D has them in the highest magnitude.

Songs that will give an adrenaline rush.‘Emotional Attyachaar’/total ecstasy, the brass version and the rock version.Folks, Hindi rock is the next big thing. Punjabi rap/rock, fusion(which was there for the limited, but now it’s for all coz we have opened up). This track is total madness, first Indian death metal track. You may not like it but you will love the hypocrite in you later. Am looking for Bony Chakrovarthy, the singer.

Mahi Mennu and Duniya by Amit Tivedi(as a singer). These tracks are another force that will push you to further self-destruction. By now, you mind some serious addiction. Punjabi local techno trance. What’s that?I dunno. It’s just good. We had some similar hints in OLLO. But don’t take me serious, am too high.

Amit Trivedi, probably the most versatile music director at present. As a matter of fact, he did Aamir. How did it sound? Lyrics:Shellee, Amitabh Bhattacharya, Shruti Pathak, Mani. Whoever they are, there is some madness definitely driving them.

Saali Khushi. By now, you must have started noting the abrupt titles. Perhaps music sets for the prelude for any movie release.Generates curiosity, sets platform, sets guidelines and give a specific flavour. I guess, Dev D’s music is sufficient for people to wait for the 35mmdose.

Dhol Yaara Dhol. Another local flavour, this time Rajasthani. Pleasant, soothing and perfect for housewives cutting onions for kadhai paneer, frustrated employees waiting for appraisals and emotional lovers.; -) So here we have Rajasthan, Punjabi, fusion, rock, grunge, orchestra, Hindi…and I am not even halfway through….I can’t move on. Am stoned…check out the rest by yourself. And do lemme know if I talked sense. If not, blame it on overdose.: -)

Note: Do listen to the lyrics of the songs carefully. They will secretively make sense. Pronunciation might be elusive, but believe me that’s because of self-indulgence. Quite understandable.

The music of the film ‘aphrodisiac’. The more you listen, the more you get addicted and I got my dose.

Rohit. Are you listening? Total kickass music brother and thanks for playing the peddler here. The review, all for you.

See you all addicts in rehab.
