Two weeks ago, I purchased an Inspiron 1525 and fedup with it. Good product to look at it, but Dell is cheating Indian customers by providing underquality and cheap Chineese products in India.
Mine in one week, it started burning like a hot metal piece. Spend hours with Dell technical Support and customer care people are most horrible, they never replies to any mail. Never expect dell support/customer care as that you experianced with Sales dept.Once the product is sold, dell Customer care will show the other face.
I spend 4hrs with Dell Technician and he has replaced three three parts in my new lappy and wants to do more experiments with that, which I didnt allow. Problem still not resolved and customer care never looked into the issues.
Product is too delicate and the screen hinges and support are too soft that if you use the Laptop in train, you have to hold that screen to prevent it from oscillating. After lot of calls, Customer care offered to give me replacement ( In US, they offer a refurbished product(after declaration to cust) on replacement due to the stringent laws, Indian Laws are always loose and they never care to say that what the product is send after replacement, only Michel dell and God knows whether its a refurbished or New product!)If you go for a refund(If you need to have any options, the system should be in 30days from the date of order not delivery), they will deduct all the fright charges and other things. You are made to pay even if they send you a faulty product!
Even the Carry bag, which I purchased from dell after paying around 2000 INR teared in a couple of days time and stitches coming out. Mere crap it was. I mailed to customer care, no replies, only automated resposes that they will reply in one business day! Low quality bags, high prices! Mere cheating of Indian customers. The DVD drive made huge noise when it is read and came to know that its a common issue with dell products. In a week, they replaced three parts of a new Laptop. Think of the "amazing" quality which dell offers in India!
Battery backup is also too low. The touch pad strucks many times. Think well before you select a dell product, especially Inspiron models.
If you are looking for a good, reliable and durable Lapy with good qualtiy, A big NO to this laptop. If you want to gift this a child also, think well, its a delicate piece:-(
