At best, you'll leave the school having learnt something crucial about yourself and at worst you'll have to block out the nightmares.
There are thousands of students at the school and it's easy to lose yourself among the crowd. The environment there is highly competitive, not just academically but in extra-curricular too.
The teachers, although experienced and mature, are nothing to write home about in terms of how well they teach or their knowledge of their subject. They are hard-working, good teachers but the teacher-student relationship is a little skewed in the school. I don't remember hearing a student wish their teacher good morning/afternoon but hi's were aplenty in the corridors. But the teachers know how to balance this dynamic. My class teacher often brought food for the class, majority of who lived in the hostel.
Since the school has so many students, you'd find all kinds here. People strumming on their guitars in the OAT, the quizzers, the ones bunking classes and studying in the Sports complex-all kinds. And if memory serves me right, there was a capella group too in the school.
It can give you a tremendous exposure-everyone knows how many students from RKP go to foreign universities-but being in a strange, new environment of such proportions can be a little tough in 11th and 12th when there's so much pressure to perform well in competitive exams.
My DPS RKP experience was from the best but I don't regret it. I studied there two years but was one of the best years of my Life.
