This is the most perfect fragrance related quotes I've ever read ! And while selecting my perfume I always keep this in mind. I am crazy about perfumes & always try out the new ones. Hugo Deep Red was launched in 2001 by house of Hugo Boss & once I took a whiff from the tester I knew I had to have this perfume, so later I asked my mom to gift it to me on my birthday. Somehow perfumes mean more when we receive them as a gift :) Since I've used Hugo Deep Red, all the other perfumes have taken a backseat for me. Deep Red has been my signature perfume for almost 2 years now.

Deep Red for Her is a uniseason perfume which is dark, sweet & mysterious. It has a fruity, floral smell with a minty undertone, in a simple word its UNIQUE. The top note is a lively floral fragrance that drives the senses.......smells wonderful on the skin. This classy perfume blends energy & sensuality, strength & femininity. Its not heavy & one application would last till evening !

A fragrance also reflects our personality - Deep Red is for the stylish & confident woman, one who sets her own rules & makes her own choices. It is seductive & feminine yet it has that irresistible bloom of innocence, evokes the sweetest memories & inspires dreams. The floral fragrance reflects a sense of calm & confidence of the wearer.

Pricing and packaging are very essential for the success of perfumes; packaging being the first thing to attract one towards the product & here too this perfumes scores well. Hugo Deep Red is bottled in a 50ml & comes in an attractive black box, which has no markings except the HUGO logo & bottle image on one side. Very impressive, less says more! The bottle itself is a sleek tiny curved bottle, which is darkest shade of red [scarlet & almost with a black tint] & a attractive silver top. Once more there is nothing written on the bottle except for the HUGO name.

Deep Red is priced at Rs. 2500 & may vary a couple of hundreds depending on the store you buy from. As is with all Hugo perfumes, this one is expensive too but believe me, its a great value for your money & ideal for gifting.

'Choosing a scent is like choosing a lover. You have to sleep with it first to know how well suited you are'......... thank god, we now have perfume in testers ! lolz ;) As we all have our very own individual body smell, while buying a perfume we should try to find a fragrance family that’s in tune with our skin. So always sample first, wear it for at least four hours & then decide, especially while buying designer perfumes.

Even the best perfumes would last upto 8 hours &am not exaggerating when I say that Deep Red applied in the morning would last till late evening, yeah even in our Mumbai humid climate! Here are some secrets we should know on how to wear a perfume coz with proper application of the scent we can hope it to last a little longer:

The best way would be layering the perfume. If possible one should use a brand matching scented soap, shower gel, body lotion/talc/deodorant before applying the perfume. Perfume lasts longer when sprayed lightly to damp skin.

When applying fragrance, it must touch the skin. It should be the first thing you put on, allowing it time to warm and develop. If you have fair or dry skin, you would need to apply perfume more often as fragrance evaporates more quickly on these type of skin. On the other hand, oily skin can retain scent longer.

Fragrance should be applied on the pulse points- wrists, throat, the bend in your elbow, collarbone & even behind the knees or at the ankle. Wear it on your wrists, but don't rub it together as this will alter the smell. Spray your hairbrush with a favorite scent & run it through your hair, don't spray the perfume directly on your hair as it tends to mix with the scalp oil & distorts the perfume smell, perfume would also dry you hair.

If your fragrance comes in a spray bottle, spray it at least 8'' away from your body for proper dispersion. The best example of this was shown in the comedy series Friends, where Rachel sprays the perfume in air & then twirls around it ! It was a really funny scene but perfume works out that way too!

Never spray perfume directly on your clothes because some perfumed may stain the fabric. Always apply fragrance before dressing or wearing jewelry.

By properly storing fragrance, you can extend its life. If you care for your perfume, it can last up to three years – keep it away from heat, light and air, as once you open it, it can deteriorate quickly.
