THIS ONE's FOR DECCAN HARVEST IN MAGARPATTA CITY AND NOT DECCAN QUEEN ( There was no category of this restaurant so I decided to put this under Deccan Queen)
It was the day of the Ganesha, Ganesh Chaturthi . Associated with good beginnings and I thought I would make use of the holiday and start the search for a new house with a trip to Magarpatta city. Along the way I thought I would pickup a friend and have lunch with him before he went to work in Magarpatta City.
So off we went to the only restaurant in the neighbourhood called Deccan Harvest.
It is an open air restaurant with seating space nicely spaced out. Sitting out in an open restaurant looking out at the well manicured gardens and having a leisurely lunch would be a good thing. Or so I thought. We had ordered for a Lasagne Bolognese and a Biriyani; that's as far as I have been with fusion food!!!!
We started off with the Lasagne Bolognese and were enjoying the food untill I got a phone call. I finished the call and then returned to my dish. For some reason I looked closely at the morsel I was about to have.
What I saw got me quite agitated. What I saw closely and carefully got me pysched out completely.
I saw a fly lying on its back and pointing its tush towards me. Actually to give the restaurant due credit it wasn't a simple dead raw fly , they ensured that the fly was baked properly with the meat bits and the rest of the stuff.
One can imagine a fly falling into the dish out of exhaustion or poor sense of direction but taking it further and actually performing its last rites and trying to serve the same to a customer is too much!!!!
I could have had food poisoning!!
I met a lot of people over there including the manager and the owner of the restaurant and the owners of the MP city project who were particularly nice people who explained since the restaurant is an open one they typically get these kind of complaints and they were trying to handle the matter in the best way possible and apologised for the episode.
I had intended to take this matter seriously despite their apologies and had the morsel collected in a plastic bag alongwith the spoon and paid the bill by my credit card rather than cash
But I guess inaction usually wins over action and the plastic bag sat in my bare kitchen for exactly 10 days encouraging fungus growth. ( I am writing this after a month and half after this incident took place)
Finally I decided to immerse the fried fly in the river nearby on the day of Ganpathi immersion.
FOR THE WEBSITE OWNERS: You need to include more review details under Hygiene, value for money etc for this to be more effective
