I spent the week-end in the hospitalbecause on Saturday night I saw blood in my urine. I thought that I had a urine infection because I have had to lay down so much, because of my sprained ankle and broken toes.

Within a few minutes I felt like I was having a heart attack.

My husband took me  to the Emergency Ward, and after 6 hours, a doctor finally saw me. He told me it wasn't my urine it was my kidneys.

He ordered some more blood tests and told me I had a choice of going home for a few hours, (until the tests came back from the central lab or staying in the hospital). I live 6 blocks from the hospital and so we came home.

I couldn't sleep so I read and rated some reviews, (I'm sorry I didn't leave comments). He called at 5 p.m. and told us to come back to the hospital because he had to run some tests.

When I got back to the hospital they took some more blood and checked my heart rate, blood pressure and gave me a Renal Imaging test.

This includes taking an ultra sound, a tomography, (CT Scan), and a Magnet Resonance Imaging Scan.

The also tested me by doing a cystoscopy, (to test to see if I had cancer). This was the only test that really hurt.

A cystoscope is a thin tube with a light and eyepiece attached to it. The tube has optic fibers inside it. The tube is inserted through the small h@le where your urine come out of.

I was awake while they snipped some skin from the tissue in my bladder and kidneys.

All biopsies in Canada, are sent to the Laboratory in Regina, Saskatchewan.

I had to stay in the hospital until all of the tests came back.

The result is that I passed a kidney stone. From the cystocopy, I got an infection and I'm now on anti-bionics.

I'm glad it wasn't some thing worse.

What causes Kidney Stones? The stones form when the minerals, (in your body), are not taken away in your urine. The stick together and begin to form stones.

What can they do if you have Kidney Stones? If you only have a few then they can do nothing. If you have a lot you will have to have an operation.

The doctor told me to come back in a few months and he would give be a blood test. Until that time I should stay away from salt, calcium and I have to drink a lot of water.

Thank you for reading my review.
