The internet is full of websites catering to every taste. There are some utility sites, corporate sites, portals, financial sites, educational sites, fora and message boards, and of course ?porn? sites! They may not even entertain in the conventional sense of the term. Well, they may not even titillate, unless of course you have a kinky streak in you.

THE PURPOSE
The raison de etre of this website is to provide ?valuable? information on celebrity deaths. The celebrities could be in any field, politics, business, cinema, sports, music, writing, etc. If you have lost track of some celebrity singer or old-time actor and want to know whether this person still exists, you can find this information on this site. If the person has died, you find complete details of the death, date of death, cause of death, age at the time of death etc.
SITE SECTIONS
Alphabetical order of names
This has each alphabet ? as you click on an alphabet, you get a database of celebrities with names starting from that letter. The database gives details of the date of death (if dead) as well as brief information on the person. In case you are interested in knowing more about the person, you click on that persons name and a page opens giving more details on him.
In the list, the persons who are alive are notified by a sunny smiley while those who are dead have a skullface next to their names.
Birthdays today
This section opens with a default list of people born on the date you are viewing the page. Yes, it does contain the mandatory death details too. And if you want to change the date, you are free to do so.
Died on this date
Similar to the birthdays section, in this place, the database is sorted in the order of people who died on the given date.
There are some interesting sections where the database is sorted as per people who:
Died in the last 6 months
Died before age 30
Are Alive beyond 85
Lived upto age 100
More categorizations are by sex, by cause of death,etc.
Quizzes
You can test your general knowledge by participating in the quiz where you can guess whether a particular celebrity is alive or dead. In this case you can either go into the general category quiz or a specialized field quiz. The list of celebrities changes every 30 minutes so you can keep playing the quizzes through the day.
The next quiz is slightly tougher ? where you have to put a list of celebrities in the order of their birthdays, or date of death or age.
Another quiz is ?Guess the age? . You get a name of the celebrity, you guess his age. If your figure is within 3 years of the correct age, you get a point. Each game consists of 10 names.
Contests discontinued
Earlier, the site had contests where registered members could make a list of 10 celebrities who were presently alive and sort them in probability of earliest to die. These lists could be carried on for weeks and as time passed by, some of the celebrities actually do die and the members get points according to their respective lists.
This contest has apparently been discontinued since predicting deaths of living people was seen to be in bad taste.
Search engine
The site is equipped with a reasonably good search engine to locate information on celebrities.
Adding names
In case you find that some celebrity?s name is missing, you can submit a name addition form giving entire details as per the format
